I couldn't get Scharenberg in best 22. I think Bucks would prefer Goldsack but I expect Scharenberg to eventually take Goldies role. He may need to bulk up to play key position going forward in his career. He probably too slow to be a flanker in today's AFL.

Josh Daicos can't even make the VFL first string? Really?

FB: Maynard - Dunn - Crisp
HB: Murray - Reid - Howe
C: Wells - Treloar - Varcoe
HF: De Goey - Moore - Sidebottom
FF: Elliot - Cox - Fasolo
FOLL: Grundy - Adams - Pendlebury

INT: Stephenson - WHE - Goldsack - Greenwood

EMERGENCIES: Phillips, Murphy, Scharenberg

Positives:

- We finally look like we’ve got some serious pace now with Stephenson, Wells, Murray and Treloar.

- Midfield is very strong.

- We have some X-Factor with this team with players like Elliot, Fasolo, Sidebottom, Varcoe, Wells and Stephenson.

- Great intercept markers across half back.

Negatives:

- Seriously lacking key position depth, we’re an injury to Reid or Moore away from complete disaster.

- Does that midfield run both ways?

- Can Cox, Grundy and Moore co-exist?

I feel like we made a mistake in drafting Murphy over a KKP. I really hope he proves me wrong, let’s hope he’s as good as most on this board believe him to be. We must have our eyes set on next seasons draft in terms of KKP’s because it is very interesting that we didn’t draft one right now considering how light we were this season in those positions and next season we’ll be even lighter with delistings + the retirement of White.

Be really interesting if the new or newish players who can break in to best 22 ongoing.

do we see the emergence of Sier or Murray or Stephenson or Murphy...

Or Kirby?

Or the breakout year we've waited for from Aish or Broomhead.

Then Daicos?

Does Cox burst out as ongoing best 22 troubling defences and rucking types?

Be fascinating

What's a KKP and who would you have taken that is one that was still on the board?

As we plan 5 years ahead we know ;
Young Kelly is a key back and has been with us for years as a daicos academy member , gonna be very very good
ISSAC q will be excellent

The great thing today is renewed hope
Great point and illustrates where on the cusp of something better
I think we now have an established core of 14/ 17 capable of beating anyone
Cox goes half as well as I and others think finals are a cert ( injuries permitting )
Core group
Dunn, Howe, Moore , de goey , Grundy, crisp, pendels , Sidey, wells , treloer, Adams, WHE , Maynard , Reid , varcoe,Elliot , sack
Need as you pointed out 5 of the slow starters to get going
I want wills, cox, Murray ,Stephenson and Kirby to be that 5
Lots of others to pick from too

I couldn't get Scharenberg in best 22. I think Bucks would prefer Goldsack but I expect Scharenberg to eventually take Goldies role. He may need to bulk up to play key position going forward in his career. He probably too slow to be a flanker in today's AFL.
Surely Shaz gets a gig ahead of Langdon, and Phillips isn’t best 22 for mine. He’s too panicked, one paced and weak...maybe in a couple of years. I’d prefer to try out Murray, Aish, Cox, Broomhead, Mclarty, Thomas or wills. Basically anybody because I don’t think he’ll make the grade and also because the others have more upside

Langdon has been better than Scharanberg to date. I am rewarding performance over potential.
Likewise Phillips over the likes of Aish, Broomhead, but I acknowledge Phillips (along with Stephenson) are probably the 21st and 22nd player. Therefore you can remove one of them and go with an extra tall (Cox) or go with more inside midfield grunt (Thomas) or another small forward who will press and tackle (Blair/Mayne/Broomhead).
Murray NEAFL form wasn’t that outstanding in that he automatically becomes best 22. He’s behind Maynard, Crisp, Varcoe for a small running defender role. Maybe Aish too.

I think if Moore goes back then Goldsack goes forward.

Backs: Dunn and Moore with Langdon/Scharenberg/Howe capable of playing tall. McLarty developing.

Forwards: Reid and Cox with Goldsack as 3rd tall and pressure forward. Stephenson/WHE and possibly Wills or Sier all capable of playing as a 3rd tall and Elliott/Fasolo/De Goey dangerous out of the square.

I think we need more KPs developing at VFL but we do have flexibility in our bigs which may save us.

You can lock Cox in Mr Viewed.
He is going to bedazzle next year.
Mark my words.
