Yep, Maynard for me. He’ll be one of the young players of the comp that will be underrated and have a top notch year imo.

I think Grundy is very stiff to be named here. Even though I suspect he can get even better I'd still say he "arrived" as a senior player some time ago. All the others you could make a case for.

De Goey is the one I'll go for; several others have a chance to really improve and make a name for themselves.

Their nomination was Mason Cox. Ok.

I mean sure, we all hope he can hold down that forward/relief ruck role this year and continue his progresd, but Maynard would be the obvious candidate. Has shown all the signs.

My other one is Farty McLarty. I don't expect much early but I'd love to see him put together some VFL form early and push for a regular spot in the second half of the year. Might be a year early to be honest, but I like the kid.

I reckon the article has got it right. Cox will get opportunity. His performance is such currently that he should kick 30 in a season. His ruck work is already better than AFL average. If he improves, and I expect he will, he'll be a handful.

Maynard is an obvious choice given a likely move to midfield. If he can consistently win more than 20 touches it'll be big for us.

I reckon Murray will get chances too and given he is in a position we desperately need, if he performs it will be big for the side.

I hope so but i've lost faith. His lack of pace, conservatism and consistency really kill him.

DeGoey or Moore

These are the two guys with the potential to be elite (or close to), both of whom have showed glimpses but not had that big jump in their performance yet (not unexpected at this stage so far).

DeGoey needs to show enough consistently to force himself into our starting on ball group.

Darcy needs start showing the ability to dominate games (at either end, but hopefully as a forward... hopefully a few 4-5 goal bags and suddenly he's "arrived")

Agree and disagree I think his resting forwardand raking grabs and kicking more goals is what will have him arrive and become all Australian
