Pure speculation but someone like Cam Guthrie with a promise of a starting role in the midfield may be enticed to make a change. He does have pretty strong ties to the Cats, but you never know.

If we could pick up 2 good mature aged midfielders like a Dahlhaus or Guthrie it would go a long way to pushing us up the ladder.

I don't know , they are not scully, Ward , Phil Davies level or deboer and Barlow who cost only draft and pre season salary . You don't want them to be cruise around with money like campbell brown and Ablett .

We have a build with the plodder types, once we are around the top 8 we can then chase the bigger names in the lower ranked teams

Nothing stoping GC making Top 8 but injuries , how many games you get to watch Bennell, o meara ,prestia , ablett playing together when they are with GC . I am not against getting a great midfielder but other priorities got to get it right first . No point getting Bont and the team fall apart when he is injured and using it as an excuse again if top 8 is out of reach .

It’s not our choice it’s theirs, we would jump at the chance but if no one wants to come here it doesn’t work

Fair enough - don't know his complete background check but seems to be the only time he's been in strife so could be worth digging deeper to see what type of bloke he is

Yes is 26 , coming into his prime , gc boy can play , wouldn’t cost a lot either.

26.5 now - born in October so won't be 28 until after the 2019 season - 3 year deal and he still won't be 30 at the end of the contract

If Elliott and Fasolo come back he could be on the look out for a new home for opportunities

He's actually not a GC boy. He grew up in Brisbane, attended Iona College and played his junior footy for Redland.

Having said that, he did play for our TAC Cup team back in the day and may feel some connection to us. I do know he decided to live in Queensland and Uber around during the year he was banned so it's possible he'd be open to a move back home.

He along with Beams where given the choice to sit out a year and play a year in our u18s , but both decided to take there chance in the draft.

I know if Lynch left GC got money , but don't want to waste it on players having a few years left in their body . If he is Gibbs , Fyfe , or even Gov or Gaff type I agree paying over for him.
