I'm yet to be convinced that Wines is much better than what we have now. Is he already at his ceiling?
You're joking surely....Age 23 .. likely next Captain at Port Adelaide. Has at least a decade left in him - and no one extracts from the midfield like him.
All reasons he's unobtainable...
IMO.

I don't know how much you watch opposition team play , same age as tim Kelly and you said he had reach his ceiling .I would throw everything at him if he is willing to come first than dalhaus or libba.

We can still try , never said never .

Doesn’t hurt to have a crack, you never know, there may be players out there who love the idea of living here or who’s wife/girlfriend would love to be here, they might hate the constant scrutiny that Melbourne or Perth or Adelaide puts you under, they may have had a holiday here once and always had in the back of their mind they’d like to live here, maybe Stuart Dew excites them, maybe the challenge of bringing a club a first premiership is a legacy that excites them....those things may be unlikely but not impossible AND that is why you at least make a cheeky call and have a crack.

Agree , I am giving up on Lynch, if after 8 years he is not buying in no point convince him to stay, just want to make sure the other club offer him 1.4 Mil .

After 7 years we sacked the coach, recruiter, GM and fitness coaching team.. as well as traded out/watched leave our 'nucleus of talent. So we're trying to convince him in spite of that, and likely finishing bottom 4 that we are still on the right path

If he stays it’s because he loves his mates, the club, the GC, the lifestyle and because he is loyal to a fault.
Loyalty is something some people just have in them and they’ll be loyal even at personal cost just because it matters more to them than anything else.

Very Pavlich , could gone back to Adelaide with some good offer but he didn't take it.

Gold Coast Suns midfielder Aaron Hall considering move away from the Queensland club
03b8f8b9214d3bb62e7a2041a2291919

TOM Lynch isn’t the only player Gold Coast could lose at the end of the season, with midfielder Aaron Hall wanting out of the Queensland club.

Hall is off contract at the end of this season and is weighing up interest from multiple clubs circling the polarising Suns player who is out of favour with coach Stuart Dew.

The 27-year-old Tasmanian has been absent from the AFL since being dropped after playing his 100th AFL game in Gold Coast’s Round 4 loss to West Coast.

It’s a situation Hall has dealt with numerous times in recent years with former coach Rodney Eade and new senior coach Dew both dropping him to the NEAFL in a bid to get consistency out of him.

He has divided fans over the course of his seven year career at the Suns, showing glimpses of his ability to break a game wide open with his speed and dynamic play, only to fall away in games and not adhere to the team’s defensive structures.

The Bulletin understands Hall, who is good friends with former Suns and current Geelong pair Gary Ablett and Zac Smith, is searching for opportunities elsewhere beyond 2018.

Both Hall and Ablett are managed by Liam Pickering.

Hall has averaged 27 disposals, eight tackles, four inside 50s, nine clearances and a goal in his three NEAFL games against Brisbane, Sydney Swans and Canberra and named among the best for the first two.

But despite Gold Coast making five changes ahead of their loss to the Western Bulldogs on the weekend and two the week before, Hall is yet to be recalled to the senior side.

Hall is one of twelve players who remain on the Suns list who arrived either with him in the 2012 draft or before.

Premiers Richmond and powerhouse club Hawthorn are reportedly both seeking to sign Lynch, who hails from Melbourne, when he becomes a restricted free agent this season and Hall may follow him out the door.

Gold Coast considered putting Hall on the trade table last year and the midfielder recently said he was in no rush to re-sign as he weighs up the best move for him and his partner Sophia Absalom, who welcomed daughter Penelope Hall in late December.

His contract expires on 31st October so we could trade him, but, as others have said, his value has dropped and will keep dropping if he's not playing.

So we won't get what we really want but on the other hand, if he's not playing 1sts, he also won't get what he's probably wanting. But with Pickering as his Mgr, maybe Geelong might just pay overs so the "God Squad" can be together again.

With all the success of the "God Squad" here why wouldn't they want to get them together

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Hally

The most surprising thing about the article is that multiple clubs are circling o_O

If he wants to get to the club of his choice he will need us to facilitate the move via a trade or he can take his chances in the draft - doesn't overly concern me which way this goes

Pretty sure Aaron's attitude is he will do it his way, he has shown he can play the way the team needs him to but he won't make it part of his game long term, he obviously feels strongly in his core that he just isn't in the right team for his way of playing......would be the type of person who looks at Caddy and Prestia and says that should be me
Best we all part company

Also really hoping we have a crack at De Goey. Seems like the sort that might benefit from, and want to be away from the Melbourne football scene. bit more anonymity, he's young, talented, and fills positions we need covered - ie. hard edged inside midfielders who can rotate half-forward and kick goals. Could go Lynch and a second/third round pick for Degoey and a first if Lynch does opt to leave for Collingwood.

Same age as Lynch, Swallow, Day and co. hardly old
But don't you think player need a year to get use to teammates and game plan stuff . Day, swallow are the foundation team , gaff is somebody that need to be on at the get go .You don't want people to come in just for the money and don't actually believe they can help the team.
