What are people doing with Michael Walters? Been wavering on him. Not currently in my team. Concerned about his role once the Hill brothers are back in the team.

Very good point

Ummm because the Hill brothers will take them all...

You're not very good at this whole joke thing are you mate :$
:p sorry, i was in the wrong thread :$ .....i thought we were talking about the two midfield group comparisons

Ahhh that's easy. The one without Danger :moustache:
Thanks for that ....can you take my hand & direct me to the correct conversation :p ......it was Walters we were discussing, correct ? ......so the bad points re Hill brothers was what again ?

Careful with Walters. The Hull brothers will come back and he we go forward again killing his scores.

I've looked at him. I ain't going there.

He's trapped me B4 too ......but there's few fwds i trust ......will probably start him, whilst the Hill bros are out ....then upgrade to Robbie Gray, who will rock 2018 !

Article in the Herald Sun about Roughy. Played through all games last year even when the cancer treatment was affecting the nerves in his feet:

By September 2016 the drugs had over-stimulated Roughead’s immune cells and they began turning on his body, resulting in a hepatitis-like disease in his liver.

But the treatment had also affected the cancer and in December 2016 his body was remarkably free of the disease, just seven months after a return of melanoma threatened his life.

When he started pre-season training last year Roughead thought his feet had returned to 90 per cent feeling, but later realised he was having issues.

“I got back and played every game but until the mid-season break some coaches said I was not kicking the ball as well and I did not have the agility I used to have.

“It was probably only the last five or six games last year and this preseason, the coaches are saying I am looking a lot better than at this time last year.

“I would say I was 90-95 per cent to them, but maybe I was only 80-85 per cent.”

Imagine going through that plus your wife is pregnant with your first kid, and being named skipper. Sounds like Rough has had a far better preseason this year, and if we get the ball down to him enough, he could easily be a top 10 forward.

Probably my Hawke bias coming through but thought I'd share.

What did Roughy say about O'Meara ?.....stuck behind paywall

OK i've done it .....followed my gut .....don't any of you campaigners take away my FWD POD Deledio ......he's all mine at F5, worth the risk !

Deledio, who is injury-free and on track to play in Round 1 against the Western Bulldogs, said he was now at peace with Richmond’s flag.

What’s more Deledio suggested he was more motivated than ever to win one of his own.

“It sits fine with me to be totally honest,” he said.

havent read the article but i'm guessing he's had a huge preseason, is moving freely, has full confidence in his body and is a future 300 game club champion and Brownlow medalist.

First year I've been on him. Trained pretty much exclusively with the midfield group this pre-season and attended the 3rd most centre bounces behind Fyfe/Neale over JLT which has all but confirmed his midfield precense this year. Ballantyne and Matera will free him up from the small pressure forward role. Mundy on his last legs and with Fyfe resting forward, Walters/Brayshaw will be the ones rotating through the mids. The Hills play wing, dont think they'll affect him too much.

I think he is a relevant option, averaged just under 93 in the second half of last year. Good value at 475k IMO.

Any love for Toby Greene? Yes he has had an interrupted PS, yes he is a flog and yes he scored poorly in JLT2, but should come out firing R1. Feel like a lot of people are taking risks on the likes of Trac, Smith, Walters, McLean etc to breakout but when it comes to finals later in the year, I’d feel much better with Greene in my side than any of the above.

Edit: come finals I want a fwd line looking like: Heeney, Buddy, Billings, Greene, Gray and one of the breakout players (Smith)... not a fwd line of McLean, Walters, Petracca, Smith, Sicily and one star

Upgrade target for me. Not for round 1 for all the reasons you stated.

For me though, and I’m sure plenty of others, I’m playing for cash leagues. Greene should be in full flight when league games start round 4. Not to mention, he will probably bottom out in price around R5-6 due to interrupted preseason, but my focus during these rounds will be to get Dangerfield in at all costs, don’t want to worry about bargains on other lines

I've gone Greene as a POD ......his JLT score wasn't that bad ?

A 56 point game from 48 min was actually pretty good .....he's had 2 more weeks of fitness work since, and his touch was good .......everyone has Heeney, gone a diff path
