Will be interesting to observe how he goes at the Lions. If he loses his way will be interesting to see if he still has interest in playing AFL or if he just walks away.
I think Charlie loves sport of all types .....doubt he would walk away, unless it was to play a different sport ...maybe return to Rugby ?

Essendon lost three picks. Two firsts and two seconds, though they were handed back a late first rounder for unknown reasons in the second year.

That was for poor record keeping. The AFL and Essendon were very clear at the time it was NOT for drug taking.

Amazingly the club did NOT receive a single penalty for its players being found guilty by WADA.

How the soft**** journalists allowed this to slip on by is an indictment on their entire "profession".

Apparently those poor players were already so hard done by, so it was okay that the AFL didn't want to punish anyone any more... I hate that the media are as complicit in this as the AFL with their references to players 'sitting out a year' instead of saying they didn't play because they are drug cheats.

Exactly. They were going to smash the Crows because Port had way more talent and their midfield is the best in the known cosmos, and the fat bros were gonna smash everyone and Charlie was gonna smash everyone and they couldn't wait for SPPSSPSSPSS to smash someone and Crows can't sustain .......phoaaaar puff puff.......something something ...something else.

5 games in a row that was gonna happen.

BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I think you'd be hilarious at the footy !

"I met a couple of Sydneysiders yesterday and said I was from Adelaide. We got talking sport. I mentioned AFL which they don't follow at all. They chuckled and said Kochie sure gives one of the Adelaide teams a lot of exposure on Sunrise. I said yes that's Port to which they replied .."That's tbe bigger of the 2 clubs in Adelaide, isn't it."
....Keep up the good work Kochie :)

CharlieKelly, Nelso, TheFVK and 23 others like this."

Wasn't giving the draft pick back to them at the end of the 1st round because Essendon complained they wouldn't be able to draft Jake Long as a father/son pick, who they went and took in the rookie draft. They knew, the AFL knew, but it was a convenient excuse to get them back in the draft.

What a load of crap. I work with Sydney-siders and people from Brisbane daily. They all know what type of club powa is. They use it as a bit of a tease to people from Adelaide saying "you go for Port" with a bit of a laugh. They certainly know what demographic people associate with them. I guess like people keep commenting, probably why they find it hard to attract tier 1 sponsors.

They need to learn the meaning of the word humility.
You need to learn to win graciously as well as lose graciously.
I know, Tex didnt go so well with The GF defeat speech. So dont pull the ironic shit with me power fans.
It wasn't that bad but it wasnt gr8.
I really found the tiger fans grating with the carry on from their win. No grace there.
The old Port magpies were arrogant with every right to be but were still graceful winners.(most of the time)
The power fans are just plain arrogant with NO grace in winning or losing at all.
They seem to not have a grip on reality most of the time.
You would have thought the tough years they have had in the AFL would have taught them just a touch of humility.

interesting read especially when the article said

“Schade is a very nice fella, very nice guy and as I’ve said, thought he might have been our next captain,” he said.

“Very disappointing to lose (him), we spoke and he was going to sit down and catch up with ‘Rocket’ but until that happens the club feels that they won’t be releasing him.”

however no reference to Gorringe in the same "nice fella" context
