No coaching can account for that level of turnovers
For those complaining about lack of options up forward Philips would have provided that. Should have left Rowe up forward though. It is not as if they were taking contested marks in the forward line and the ball was coming in so quick with little pressure Jones could intercept.
Really didn't handle the humidity. CC should have taken at least 6 more marks.Team was just running in treacle.
No coincidence if Cripps doesn't star we struggle.
Marchie looked good early but wasn't seen after quarter time. Hope he is not gone again

Need pace would almost be tempted to bring in Byrne - we will be desperate for a win against the Saints

I am not surprised by the result today.

I think we are really lacking leadership in the football area at Carlton (off field). Who is guiding Bolton, how are we marking our coaching teams performance? How are we measuring our drafting, our preseason, our player development? How are we marking our medical team? Who is implementing strategy to move our club on field forward? It can’t all be left to SOS and Bolts.

I think Bolton is the man to coach us going forward, but what is the appropriate support for him. Who provides it? Where is the guidance? As a club Carlton took on an inexperienced head coach, he needs the mentors to develop.

Today’s performance was as much about structure and the way our coaches have our team playing. On every line they had players ahead of the ball and our guys playing loose or sagging off. It was easy pickings for them.
Bolton was at hawks for a little while

I would be disappointed if we took Luko before Walsh. Midfield is our biggest problem. Hard working mids is our biggest need

I reckon we take the best player, and trade in some mids. Whoever we draft isn’t going to make a huge difference to our midfield for at least 3 years anyway

Taking today in isolation, we were killed in centre, torn apart. Would have made no difference if Clarkson or Mathews was couching today. Our midfield talent didn’t stand a chance after Cripps couldn’t do his usual performance. Can’t blame Bolton for our over reliance on Cripps.

Humidity? What the ****?

None of whom would have offered anything.

People keep raising those names as the saviors, but they arent up to it. Maybe one day McKay will be. At the moment though, nope.
Maybe but unless your a freak such as Charlie not many will make it in our current side with a midfield such as ours .
Much better chance for a tall if he has a decent or even competent midfield to cement a spot and make an impact .

Midfield issues? We have issues all over the park and only one first round pick.

Even when the midfield get the ball it's either Charlie or bust for the forward line.
Thats the MC's issue. We lost the game on Thursday night with our bizarre selections.

I suppose the MC selections mirror the proposed game plan.

If the players selected are reflective of the game plan they wanted to utilise then the game plan and their selections both suck.

I'm gonna be seriously annoyed if Mckay doesnt play next week. We might as well get games into him and it providers an extra target rather than going charlie every time.
Even Kerr next week if he's fit. Provides a target and he's a decent mark.

How do we trade players in when we have little to trade out?

The main problem is convincing good players to actually choose Carlton.

I feel sorry for SOS, unless we offer players well over their market value money wise, i don't see how he can convince players to join us when we're so bad and waste the best years of their career.

as obvious as it is to everyone with a head, it's still disappointing hearing bolts talking so much about injuries - in his defense he added that this builds resilience in players when they have to play out of their regular spots - he said we were disorganized down back and had plenty of work to do - sort of stuff hardwick and thompson used to trot out after a bad loss
