Or we could offer Degoey less and use him even better. No idea if we or him are interested but he would ideal. Don’t care what he has done outside the game previously

In terms of getting a talented player like JDG, we just need to make it happen. He’ll probably get 500k max at the Pies, we’d probably need to throw an extra 200 on top of that. It seems a bit extreme & it would make him close to the highest paid player on our list however that’s what it would take to get him imo. Give him 5yrs on 700k a year. I reckon it’ll pay off in 2 years time.

Great point raised, do our list management team have the balls to do that?

Such a seemingly happy list with no one leaving over the last few years, would that potentially piss guys off that a bloke walks in on more than them without playing any really good consistent footy.

Guess they wouldn't mind if he turns out the gun.

Let’s face it, with a standard salary cap across the league, our players have been riding the gravy train by getting massive overs. Blokes like Newnes are likely getting paid as much as Sloane. I’m sure they’ll understand if we bring in a couple of new blokes on salaries that are above market value. I hope we have the balls to make it happen.

Maybe I'm just jaded but I know this would end badly for us.

It’s a risk but looking at the teams that have recently won flags, they’ve all taken risks at the trade table & invested heavily in trades. Building primarily from the draft with good blokes hasn’t ended well for teams.

Most laughed at the Tigers for spending two first round picks on Prestia & getting the ‘bust’ Caddy.

Most laughed at the Dogs for trading in Boyd, he was close to BOG in a flag.

The Hawks & Swans have built their teams by trading in established & somewhat risky players.

The Cats, & a bit earlier, the Eagles, are the last teams to win flags without a significant amount of players traded in.

Because no one has ever been a ratbag in their early 20s and turned out ok.

No but if we drafted them they end up borderline sociopaths with tendencies toward a range of criminal activities.

Beat me to the punch... No pun intended.

Yes we have the balls if we rate him.

If our younger players improve, they will get paid more so don't see a problem.

Salary space should be a non issue and I see no need to pay him overs first up. It's all down to what the Cwood demand as trade. Historically Bucks does not do well with bad boys, and if JDG wants out then he can simply not sign a new contract and the club will have to take what they can get. Same as the Stringer scenario sort of.

Considering there are some overpaid campaigners on our list @ 2018 ( we are paying 100% of the cap) I dont mind ovetpaying the little headcase.

He might calm down and become a good citizen like Jake the Snake.

1. Dayne Beams goes okay
2. They haven't had many good players they drafted to be poached
3. A future second for a guy taken with pick 10 two years earlier is a great deal

Fair call on Beams. We need to get Freezer on the park before it's a good deal though. Would love De Goey and he is turning it on today. However, it will be a first rounder unless he acts up again.
