From memory StCicatriz posted a while back that there were certain trades that were 100% done and you can put the house on it. Lobb to Freo was one of them. Can't remember the rest.

Think a few in here are forgetting that Bruce was our number 1 forward - averaging 2 goals a game over the 3 years before his injury plagued 2018.

If fit he plays. We missed him this year

Josh had a shocker of a year, but despite that, based on "per game" averages compared to other tall forwards at the Saints.
Only Membrey kicked more goals per game.
Only Marshall had more disposals, and matched Bruce for Tackles.

His time on ground was well down on last year.

I'd pick him 2nd for the forward line. Third is a harder decision between Marshall and Battle.

Okay, I'm just saying let's trade out a guy who has averaged less than 2 goals per game for the past 3 years if we can get a good deal.

That leadership group thing is another red flag, a bit like Mav - was Bruce in the leadership group for just one season? If so, you'd have to ask why when we are so short on leaders… and none in the forward line.

Personally I see Bruce as one of our biggest assets to improving next year. Our third highest goalkicker this year was Newnes, and 4th was Lonie who didn't play most of the year. I like marshall as much as the next guy but playing him all year over a Bruce costs us 1 to 2 goals per game. And this is all assuming Paddy is on the park at all.

Plus now Gilbert is gone we need Bruce to provide us with the odd hilarious mess up haha

But looking at the big picture, next year we start with 3 x A grade mids in Dylan, Steven and Hanners.

Massive transformation right there.

Despite saying i was 100% sure he wasnt coming, I now have no idea whats happening (evidence suggests i had no idea at the start). Apologies, think I'll stick to speculating in future, rather than passing on 4th hand info!
