The deal is Burton 15, 35 and a future 4th rounder to Port and Wingard and a future 3rd rounder come back to Hawks. Mayes is not part of the deal.

Overall though it’s essentially burton and Mayes for free

they turned the 2 later picks for Mayes

So by trading Wingard a year early they end up with a first rounder Mayes and Burton

If they lost him next year they would only get a first rounder

Hence by going a year early they netted burton and Mayes for free and moved 1 pick down and a future 3rd moved down for a future 4th
