It just highlights how low things have gotten with the AFL media.

10 years ago we had people complaining that Eddie shouldn't be commentating Collingwood games etc. - Yes I agree but his barracking was nothing on what we see today.

So according to Kano we should have kept 11 to use on Thomas and picked up Scully on a 3 year $$$$ contract to sit in rehab for that time and then retire. That's not even taking into account that Scully wanted to go to Hawthorn.

Before proclaiming Hawthorn genius, he should also consider that if Hawthorn got any of there first 8 trade targets they may not have even considered Scully.

In that scenario we've added 3 more picks.

You can't just add a whole heap of extra picks because they are worth more points.

We are realistically only elevating 2 rookies, so we can really only have a maximum of 4 or 5 ND picks worth of points depending on where Crocker lands if we also add Thomas and Scott.

We don't have the list spaces.

Bit strange really, they are covered for the position that he plays, i guess its a fill in for the Rioli retirement.
Hawks have had a pretty good trade period all in all.

If there's going to be a wait and see on our window there needs to be one on Hawthorn too. The Scully deal can be excluded even if his ankles are shot but he's free for a reason. Scrimshaw is also essentially free but could also barely get in the bests in the NEAFL. Now they're trading arguably their best young player (and a bloke I reckon could have been their franchise player in a couple of seasons) and a first rounder for a down on form forward. If they can get two of the three up and going then it could be considered a good window but I'm not convinced yet.

I would have been happy if we picked up the 3 players that they got, I dont think it's that simple with Scully, yeah he has an injury, but GWs is shipping out players. Im pretty happy with our trade period too, Although i would have been happier if we had some ruck depth and a CHF.

Still a bit of will he or won't he about burton. 2nd year blues perhaps or he might be that tweener that never really kicks on. Not to mention the risk of pick 15.

In my opinion it's a good deal for both clubs. Yes chad hasn't kicked on either but he's exactly what they need with Cyril leaving. Plus Burton was surplus given what Sicily and Hardwick have done in 2018. I like Burton but taking off my north-tinted glasses I'd still take a fully fit EVW over him plus Wingard at his best has a very high ceiling. I dread the thought of Clarko getting the best out of him.

They are gambling a lot over the last couple of seasons. It might come off, like you though I'm not convinced. In fact I'm far from convinced but I won't be upset if they go down in flames.
