Even one of our old targets in Hannebery is headed to the Saints. Sure the majority of our targets have stayed at their original clubs but my point still stands. There is a pattern. I know you dislike Joyce, but the fact remains we're not a big club and we'll never be a big club. Either we genuinely have a crack at big names and likely fail, or we "know our place" and just target mid tier guys. Which would you prefer? You can only sell what you have - we can't go to players promising huge crowds every week, MCG games, million dollar sponsorships etc.

There's absolutely no chance we do that and nor should we.

The last two years already has a chance of putting doubts in the minds of prospective recruits. If we come out and publicly lambaste a player for not joining the club, it will not only solidify those doubts, it will actively turn off players and player agents from wanting to deal with the club.

This is 100 percent the player NOT the Club. Why should the Club be reflected poorly from the Connors / Gaff shit show. We are not a club to be walked over.

The reality is we're not a big club. It matters. We're punching above our weight even getting Dusty and Gaff to seriously consider us.
