Long term? He’s 31, we don’t need him for long term, we need him for now.

We won’t be back in England for 4 years so it’s a moot point, we will be roaring favorites at home given Smith, Cummins etc are all in their prime and Broad, Anderson etc will more than likely be retired.

We need some grit to win this Ashes..

From what ive seen he’s timed the ball well and been solid against the pace. Left the ball nicely outside off stump as well.

Denly has a couple of decent foot marks to aim at which would worry a left hander.
