Wouldn't they take someone else, and pay for Green with quantity?
Begs the question why he was so keen to do the deal last year..although if bolton had not got sacked then it would have been a rowell / anderson pickIt would suggest [if correct] Hamish doesn't see anyone available at pick 4 as a world beater this year.
If they don't, GWS don't use 4. That's all I meant.Unless they're trading out players where are the points coming from if Melbourne bid for Green with Pick 3?
so 4 for 12 + 18 + lets say 15 next year.
Not sure how I feel about that one.
Doesn't know what to do with such a high pick. Not sure about that. If we’re interested it must mean Hamish doesn’t rate anyone particularly highly at 4
It might also suggest the player Hamish thought would be available to us before the Suns' AFL charity pick was handed down he knows Melbourne are going all in for? Less likely but a possibility.
Shaping like plenty of youth this year and Grundy next year methinks?
Bringing 3 first rounders in instead of 1 I take as a sign they are looking to rebuild.
To be honest with you he'll just be better version of Jack Watts, he isn't going to be the 2nd coming of Riewoldt like everoyne thought, Still think GC were dumb as shit to not take Max and Ben King with picks 2 and 3Do you guys think Jack Lukosius May have a bit of Josh Schache about him? He seems a pretty laidback character on the field and was massively hyped coming into the draft. I haven’t seen anything from him to warrant the hype that the likes of Ben king, Rosey etc showed.
It is 3 1st round picks when all is said and done so you'd have to consider it surely?Would you do the deal? Is the talent spread really that even?
Fair observation and valid point ... it doesn't matter how much talent you have it is the 1% rare beasts that have the mental drive and desire to be truly elite let alone great . Next few years will reveal what is there with Jack ... it may take a little while .Do you guys think Jack Lukosius May have a bit of Josh Schache about him? He seems a pretty laidback character on the field and was massively hyped coming into the draft. I haven’t seen anything from him to warrant the hype that the likes of Ben king, Rosey etc showed.
You think Melbourne, with Brayshaw, Viney, Ginger, Jones etc are going to bring in another pure contested player with their pick 3? Me neither.Unless they're trading out players where are the points coming from if Melbourne bid for Green with Pick 3?
He’ll be a GOOD playerDo you guys think Jack Lukosius May have a bit of Josh Schache about him? He seems a pretty laidback character on the field and was massively hyped coming into the draft. I haven’t seen anything from him to warrant the hype that the likes of Ben king, Rosey etc showed.
Surely that is a live trade deal. Unless there is a player involved. Hately and Bonner would be of interest and great replacements for CEY and Greenwood.
Give - Picks 4, 48(Betts via Carlton) 49 and Sauce.
Get - picks 12, 18 Hately and Bonner.
This would be something we should push for. They get points for Green and a top pick before Green and a good tap ruck. We get Young replacements for CEY and Greenwood and 2 x 1st round picks.

Agreed, I'd do that.I would be so much more comfortable with that deal, even with Hately and Bonar being somewhat similar if memory serves me correctly?
Jones is nearly done, Viney is starting to rack up injury after injury and with his hard contested style I doubt very much he's going to be able to maintain his output for much longer...,..so don't be counting on Melbourne passing on Green now Rowell and Anderson are off the table. You think Melbourne, with Brayshaw, Viney, Ginger, Jones etc are going to bring in another pure contested player with their pick 3? Me neither.

Anyone watching that trade show with Andy Maher, Goddard and that wiesel 'journalist' Browne?
They're all over Crouch to Geelong for 17 and west coast future first.
