Nah, they will make up points with latter picks.
Then they must be going to trade a player/s out that haven't been spoken about yet because they don't have near enough points if they don't with a bid expected quite early on Green? Or am I reading it all wrong?

I reckon it will be included in this picks deal.
For example instead of giving them a 2nd rounder back we give them a 3rd sort of thing.
Nothing major.

I feel like if we can do this pick deal and do well in the Greenwood and Keath trades we could end up with about 5 picks inside 30ish. I'd be happy with this.

Its a very underated draft.
Sounds like the Keith deal will help us babe WBs first rounder too which will be great.

Is there a limit on the deficit you can carry in to the following year.
I don't know to be honest, anyway the AFL will change the rules to suit their lovechild GWS just like they did for Geelong a while back...

This article might be relevant?

Good read. Doesn't explicitly say how they are gonna police what Sydney did last year, so that will be interesting. The fact that it also suggests what GWS will need to match with if a bid comes in early for Green is also interesting.

Agree with point above thinking more likely to give third rounders (Betts and CEY) - and/or Greenwood/Jacobs/Jenkins compo than second rounder to GWS. Matters little to them as they just want points for Green.

To be fair though Ebert was eligible as was Borlase under the original rules.

Everything was fine until Rucci decided to start meddling in the Crows business and as a consequence ended up ruining it for everyone.
That man has had a negative toll on humanity.

High chance Greene slides to 8 if picks 4,5,6 change hands

4, 28, 49, Jacobs for 12, 18, 15 (2020) Hately (wouldn't do Bonar)

Works out neutral point wise

Jacobs for Hately is about right for the premium to trade up and allows GWS to keep pick 40 compo

Keath and next year's 2nd for 13
Greenwood and 28 for 15

2019: 12, 13, 15, 18, 23, 28 Hately, Frampton
2020: 7 (ours), 15 (GWS), Borlase, Edwards, Grundy FA

Potentially 10 first rounders. In 2 years.

So when it comes out we aren’t getting 48 for Betts but a late future pick and we are going to pay some of his contract, how we going to feel about Betts and the club?
