Lets make the right decision for the future, Look ahead to the future, in 2020 we are in a great position to bargain for an out of Contract Luko, and still get a Key Forward (Cameron) plus either a Borlase or Edwards maybe both. so there no need for high draft picks,
But this year with Pick 2/3 we can get a top elite midfielder to improve the side, plus if we are Lucky a good promising KPD/Ruck option,
Use those picks on Luko this year and that will not happen.

No I am not a leave it until next time I want the cake and want to eat it as well, and we should always look ahead at the big picture.
Cameron does not want to come to Adelaide. Bank it

Well Bicks. I would loke to ask you your opinion, how many games (AFL) will Hunter, Strachan play 😊
Hunter none and Strachan too early to tell obviously. Durdin will play about as many AFL games as Ruckman as Hunter. He's been on the Kangaroos list for 5 years you forget.

The 2014 draft is shaping up as the worst in recent memory. Absolutely horrible.

So many spuds in the first round even.

He is only 22 and made his Debut 2017
He has had a few Bad Inj's, interesting to see how he goes this W/End. V Brisbane.
Are their any up and coming Ruck Prospects In the next Draft.

Jesus Christ. You're right. Look at the line-up:

McCartin - injured and also a spud
Petracca - mediocre
Brayshaw - one good season so far
Pickett - terrible
De Goey - gun
Marchbank - average
Ahern - bust
Wright - struggling
Moore - one good season so far
Cockatoo - can't get on the park
Duggan - decent but pick 11?
Ellis - spud
Weller - average
Lever - gun but injured constantly
Garlett - massive bust
Durdin - bog average if I'm kind
Langford - average
Heeney - gun but Academy
Boekhorst - beyond awful
Laverde - struggling
Goddard - injured

So that's one gun player, a couple of maybes and lots of shit.

I used to think 2012 was one of the worst in recent years but 2014 is shaping up as terrible

Durdin is 23 and was drafted in 2014.

This year Luke Jackson who is undersized for current day Ruckman will likely go 1st then Nick Bryan and Charlie Comben in that order most likely, IMO the Ruck with the most potential and upside is Charlie Comben.

SA has a very exciting prospect in 2020 the blood'n'tars Riley Thilthorpe who on the promise he's shown could very well be a 1st rounder.

Do you think he could play part time forward or just a ruckman, or too early to tell?
His athleticism is off the charts by all reports, the early comparison that's being thrown around is Brodie Grundy so dominant has he been against his peers.

Named again for Westies League team on the weekend which is some sort of feat for a 200cm 96 kg kid that only had his 17th birthday a week ago.
Would no doubt have led the SA Ruck division as an under ager at this year's Championships if not injured at the time.

Problem gambler? That’s way off a relevant analogy.

It’s the kind of thinking that gets the AFC to exactly where it is today - nowhere.

You literally looked at a scenario that has only had costly, negative results for us and was like "lets do it again, this time it'll be different".

The kind of thinking that got AFC absolutely nowhere was being so shit scared of keeping their players they decided to cheat the salary cap thus crippling us, and the kind of thinking that we are shit scared of missing finals for 2-3 years in a row, and thus have no desire to plan for the mid to long term because anyone in charge here knows it doesn't take much for them to be in strife. They're the problems that need fixing, at least the first one is a mistake a club doesn't make twice. The second one has been a festering here for 20 years, and most likely a response to winning two grand finals by just clicking at the right time. You want AFC to get somewhere, that whole culture needs to go, otherwise it doesn't matter what is done, this club will fail time and time again.

Recruiting a 1st year KPF at an exorbitant price doesn't help our chances, it hurts them, even if Luko lives up to the hype. No player is that valuable, ever.

Would we consider trading Sloane if we got a decent deal.

We aren’t in the premiership window and if he went to a team contending, it could work out well for everyone.

No, he is the heart of the club.

As a comparison, here's the 2012 first round.

Whitfield - Gun
O'Rourke - Who?
Plowman - Average, especially for a pick #3
Toumpas - Lol
Stringer - Gun
Macrae - Gun

Wines - Peaked in his first season, has gone backwards every year since
Mayes - Started promisingly but has fallen away hugely, can't get on the park
Vlastuin - Decent, but pick #9?
Daniher - Gun but constantly injured
Menzel - I want to forget
Jaksch - Atrocious
Lonergan - Spud
Corr - Bit of a spud, gets the odd game due to the Giants' injury
Garner - Average
Thurlow - Spud
Simpson - Spud
Grundy - Gun
Kennedy - Spud
Broomhead - Ok but injured
Hrovat - Very average
Towers - Spud
Paparone - Terrible

Would the club have the courage to put Matt Crouch, Brad Crouch and Rory Laird on the trade table?

If they did, what would we receive in return?

Very reliable source who has spoken to someone high up in the club says they are willing to trade players to get the youth/speed/skills we need
If true (not doubting you) - lol.. ****ing lol.. the draft they had last year sitting there waiting for moves to be made to get not only good players, but local ones.. combined with the picks we had to make more moves.. and they sat there and did what?

Scared club. Safe.

Matt - a good first and an additional pick
Brad - a good first
Laird - a good first

The problem is they are all mid-20s players and I'm not sure we should be trading all the guys that could be there next time and have played good football

I think we are not far off a significant turnover of numerous players

Especially if we don’t make the eight but even if we do and don’t go far

We’ve clearly tried to see if we can squeeze a flag out of the 2017 group Tex Eddie etc

If not, time to refresh if not rebuild

Gotta look at Thilthorpe- draft year of 2020 and he can rotate through the ruck, forward and back. He's a freak and could be compared to Grundy. Made his SANFL debut at 17 the other day for the bloods.
