Disappointing lack of a xx.
I'm so angry. I hate them so much I am going to do another ladder predictor for 2020 & make them lose even more games.
Not sure why people are salty about Lachlan Johnson, he was near zero chance of coming to us. I doubt we were invested much in him.
The pressing issue is draftees being born after 2000. Time the AFL changed it to 1999 or earlier.

We were set to take him in the rookie draft. Thats the risk you take.

Depends on how we view them i guess. I think we do need some future depth for down back. I don't think we have a lot of depth, Birchall is at the end, Rich is 30 so spots will pop up in a few years. We have targeted players who can intercept mark though, on top of bringing in the likes of Adams this year shows a clear 'type' of player we want filling in spots down back. Same with the mids we are drafting, tough ball winning types. Win the hard ball, and have the ability to win it in the air seems to be our focus.
We have been trying to add some speed, Coleman does bring a little of this and we did get Ah Chee before the draft, so we have increased that this off season still.
Must admit, I'm now pretty pissed at tonight's proceedings and it is mostly due to Essendon. The Robertson trade (not the player) I'm annoyed about, but Essendon screwing us on bidding on Coleman when they did and then the kicker, taking Chrissy Johnson's boy from us, just topped it off. I'm obviously rapt we officially secured Coleman nonetheless.
Cant really blame Essendon. Just outdrafted us. They knew were weren't going to take him, because we showed our hand by nominating him for Rookie draft. That's why they were able to push their pick back and still get their man. Gotta say as well as we have done in previous years, a really poor draft from a strategy point of view. I guess have to have faith in our recruiters with who we have picked up though.
Essendon were obviously ropeable with us for getting Robertson. They offered Port a deal for him but our deal was better.

Think we did alright considering the circumstances. Dodoro had sandy panties from the second we got Robertson. He’s such a stain of a bloke.

Good to see us get another WA boy to pair with Robertson. Glass might be a premiership player keen to bring him back but he could be one on his own in a year or two

By my calculations, we have no more primary or rookie list spots available, unless Archie leaves (or Lyons, Skinner, Eagles).
I'm guessing he is gone given we had committed a rookie spot to Lachie Johnson despite technically not having a list spot available; that we in the public know about.

If you read Prior's bio he has largely played midfield at U18 level but played in defence for the WA rep side.

The early Coleman bid was a little frustrating and it we probably hoped Cumberland would make it to the rookie list. But nothing we can do - just pot luck - if another club properly want talent, they're welcome to bid.
But "losing" Martyn & Johnson is a bit meh. Not huge stuff to get worked up about.

Dodongo is happy with the draft haul. Dodongo doesn't get why there are a lot of salty people about Robertson. He was worth the trade and a future second pick next year is nothing when we already have two firsts and won't be making massive list changes. Dodongo only expects 4 players next year and we have 2 good shots. Plus trades from those picks are liKely too. We have lost nothing but gained gold
I haven't read one post where anyone has been "salty" with us drafting Robertson.
I'm certainly not, which is distinct from the seperate trade with Port.
