Rucks yes, KPP no. He can play forward or back.Strange pick with the amount of talls/rucks we've already got
Who says he was chosen largely on athletic ability? His numbers are very respectable for a late round KPP. 10.7 disposals, 4.2 marks, 1.9 goals per game in the NAB League.Don't particularly like the selection of Nyoun. Players picked largely on their athletic ability should be left for the rookie draft for me due to the one year deal vs two year deal as national selection.
Someone did bid on them. The best club with the best recruiters.I don’t like our strategy of just bidding on anyone’s academy if that’s what they were doing.
It’s odd because I haven’t thought this in years, but it doesn’t feel like we have done enough homework heading to this draft. Since about 2014-2015 to last year, it really felt like we were well researched and prepared but I don’t get that vibe this year.
I say this not because the group of players that we picked up. Rather, it is more to do with the apparent lack of targeted pickups. Some teams like Carlton, Geelong, Gold Coast and Collingwood had that vibe about them this year and we did too in the last couple of years but not this year.
I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see how our group go before making any judgement, but how they reached their selections this draft doesn’t fill me with confidence like it did in the last few years. I mean, we have three unmatched academy picks on our list. Does it say that we got a bargain, or was there a reason why there was no bid on them? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Project players need more than two years. Not sure about taking project players in the ND, they get 2 years minimum..
If he slipped to the rookie draft, he slipped to St Kilda. If we wanted him, that's where we had to take him.Nyoun would have slipped to the rookie draft surely?
Did we reach for him?
Pfft.Pretty clear we really wanted Martyn so bid on Cumberland expecting Brisbane to match. Meaning they wouldn’t have the points to match our bid for Martyn. U could see Thursfield move Cumberlands magnet up when Brissy didn’t match. Probably cost us Bianco so we did the trade then. A pretty major stuff up. Hope they learn a lesson from it.

Imo you need to foget the idea that first rounders have to be stars of the comp. They are rare. First rounders should be players that play 100 games plus. Thats the level rating. Stars of the comp are top 20 of 800 and can come from everywhere so I think you are asking for far far too much. If you can have 4 or 5 in steam that is gold. And very lucky.Do you believe that he is a star of the competition based on his output? The first initial point I was making is that I don’t think he is. Secondly, I think that his 2019 season specifically was at the level of a fringe player. I didn’t really think he was that much of an essential player, hence why I used the term fringe player.
It’s a personal opinion I have of him, but you guys are more than welcome to disagree with me if you view him differently. My opinions on AFL aren’t the most informed, so I am happy to acknowledge that I could be wrong on him.

How did it cost us Bianco when we still had the very next pick there to then take him?Pretty clear we really wanted Martyn so bid on Cumberland expecting Brisbane to match. We liked the fact Bigoa improved throughout the year and was starting to show his rare athleticism more as the year wore on.
We have Ross, Balta, chol, Stack, Naish, RCD, CCJ, Graham, McIntosh, Turner, English and Higgins to come into the the side next year that didn't play in the GF.
Add Pickett with a full preseason.
We certainly did draft for three years down the track. Not 2020.
Where does your club Intel come from Dragonfire?Didn’t appear to be our night tonight. Martyn and Ralphsmith are nice types but Biggs and Cumberland look rookie level
Just on this, if you take out the reaction time, Bolt did 2.70/2.74. Not sure if they count the reaction time at the Combine or start the clock when the kid actually gets going. Whichever, 2.86 is rare air. It's ******* lightning for anyone. Usain Bolt did 2.93 in the first 20 metres of the London Olympics 100m final (9.63 for the 100) and 2.89 when he ran the 9.58 world record.
Cumberland looks the best of the lot from tonight IMO.Didn’t appear to be our night tonight. Martyn and Ralphsmith are nice types but Biggs and Cumberland look rookie level
Lmaothe host calling every club "the richmond football club" "the carlton football club" and so on is mildly infuriating just say richmond, carlton etc you campaigner we all know they're a football club
We won the premiership with a horror season... I don't think we're worried about Collingwood finishing above uscan someone ecplain the trade with Collingwood to me?
Did we move spots and then just exchange 2nd rounder for 2020?
Or did they give us something else?
If it's the former, then we could potentially have moved DOWN both drafts?
We didn't in that quote. We did.
did you nominate?fu** i did not get picked
How many of any did you watch live?None, did not make my radar.
When they do, let me know
Exactly right. What I do know is they won't be breaking into the side next year like Ross did with his big body. The whole draft looks underwhelming! Did what we could with what we had! Not disappointed, if we walk away with 2 100+ game players we've done well!
