I am stunned we won as many as 8 inside 50 counts. I assumed we all no longer cared or thought the ball going into our forward 50m mattered anymore to anyone.

Hewett is a gun who is finally getting some due recognition. I can recall some on here wanting him to be dropped earlier this year after a few average performances.

The I F 50 count is devestating.

Hewett is now our prime mid. Josh Kennedy is the vital support act. George, Rampe and Franklin, when fit, are our top three players.

Re COR and Dawson, they have clearly cemented themselves in our best 22 from the full list.

Dawson is becoming vital and is the best of our younger players. I hope he has forgiven the Club for holding him back and that he re-signs.

Like pretty much everyone, I am delighted with Allir Allir. Another coach might encourage a more attacking game from him.

If you look at the top teams and how they are playing - Geelong play on the least after a mark and after playing corridor football last year now play the most football down the boundary line, Brisbane playon the 3rd least after a mark and play the 2nd most down the boundary line, West Coast Eagles played more boundary football last season (and won the comp) than any team, took the most marks of any team (Collingwood 2nd) and very rarely play on.

Yet all the experts here complain that we should do the opposite of what all the top teams do - we should play on quickly, use the corridor and don't play down the boundary line.

You then apply goal accuracy where Eagles/Geelong are the most accurate goal kickers whilst Sydney are down near the bottom

For what it's worth agree John Longmire tried a different more urgent style early last year in JLT and early on. This was as noted above jettisoned early in the season.

One thing I have noticed this year is that we are a little less bottled up inside D50. There is far less chippety chip back and across inside D50. Partly this is personnel driven with Smithy not playing this year.

Geelong are 11th in the Comp for I50's and are still two games clear at the top of the comp and are the top points scorers and yet we whinge because we don't win the I50

I think given the paucity of our I50s the fwds are doing ok. We may let the opposition waltz out too easily at times. Our greater problems are the quantity and quality of I50 entries.

I would take 20 of Hewett's touches any day over 30 of Parker's.

Parker put in 2 or 3 low bullets that were marked inside 50 last game. His kicking occasionaly let's him down but he has excellent vision. He often spots an option many wouldn't, and although he does fluff his lines occasionaly, he absolutely nails it often enough too. He was our best going inside 50 vs Geelong.

Inside 50 count can be a little misleading on its own. Cats have won only 5 inside 50 counts this year yet are 11-1. They lost the count last night but won by 11 goals and belted Demons by 80 earlier in the year but lost the inside 50 count by 24.
