It's a real shame that Pete Carroll trusted Russ from the one yard line in the superbowl.

Ouch! Maybe we can start a narrative about how Wilson can't run a pro style offense...I mean it must have been by design to go three scores down last week.

Anyway, enough of last week.

On paper, the 49ers should stroll through the Packers but having endured, tipped interceptions, fumbled punts, and mind-boggling play calling on the goal
line of a SB nothing ever will surprise me.

The recipe for the 49ers is the same as last week:

- no stupid turnovers (the Garoppolo WTF moments and a worrying trend of Matt Breida fumblitis lately)
- stop the run and then meet at the QB
- don't let Rodgers be HoF Rodgers

What about in playoffs?

Throwing an early pick V a team like the Bengals and then smashing them 41-17 or the Panthers on the 2nd drive and winning 51-13 will inflate all of the above.

0 attempts
0 completions
0 yards
0 TDs
0 interceptions

Passer Rating: 158.33

Next.

1 pass for 9 yds against Cincinnati

3 for 40 against Carolina

He didn't throw any passes the drive after an interception against playoff teams this year, mainly because he didn't throw interceptions against playoff teams

I think he's referring to "in the playoffs" versus against playoff teams...well that's how I read his comment.

This is what you came up with after Jimmy threw the pick in the 2nd quarter??

Man stick to your story. You asked what he did in the playoffs. He only has played one playoff game with one interception with one subsequent series following.

The facts and the QB rating are listed correctly above.

Jimmy G's stats on drives after throwing a pick this year have been lights out. You must have not watched the game because NBC highlighted it. Either that or you only like the facts that suit your narrative

I saw an interesting stat on twitter via fb that the 49er chance of winning nosedives after Jimmy's first INT, something like 3rd worst in the NFL.

I'll see if I can find it later to explain better...

What are the odds of that happening, really? Gimme numbers!

I can't speak for other stadiums but the traffic control out of Santa Clara post game is absolutely horrendous. It was bad at Candlestick too. I remember my first game at Candlestick and noticing how the stadium was almost empty with 10 minutes to go...and that was when they were winning.

However, to the photos in the original post...I'm pretty sure most were taken from preseason games.

49ers took the ball after Sherman's pick at the Vikings' 44. A FG gives them a two possession lead again. Coach Shanahan, who still cops criticism for how he closed out the Atlanta SB, called runs that resulted in yards gained of 4,6,6,7,4,4,11,TD. 21-10. Game over.

That drive was the game breaker.

All ready on top with the D suffocating the Vikes - that drive was soul destroying.

After that you just keep running it. Chew the clock and break their spirit. After watching the 9ers this year you'll see them win a lot of different ways.

I've got no worries about Jimmy G needing to play lights out for us to win - which he's done during the season. We'll take whatever approach is needed depending on the game situation.

Just did the poll and almost wanted to pick unders for every offensive player - maybe I should take the game unders!

Kittle is the only one in player performance I've got going over.

Indeed, that was one of very few though.

Post game Zim made a point to mention when asked that more plays where called but not executed/thrown.
Sage Rosenfels went through the tape and posted #vikingsMissedOpportunities on twitter. A better quarterback, or better offensive execution, would have seized these opportunities and I'm pretty certain that someone like Aaron Rodgers would have completed a bunch of them.

The San Fran Dline will "spook" any QB.

Don't be so sure re; Rodgers taking advantage, this a QB who lead the league in throw aways last season and has been throwing off his back foot a ton this season.

He's not about hanging in there and taking the hits in the pocket like he once did anymore.

A lot of it has come down to Rodgers not trusting our receivers. Adams and Graham are the only ones he trusts. Lazard is earning that trust but he's a rookie and only a 3rd WR.

Also we don't have recievers that are able to create separation like they used to. Adams is a beast at it but the others are useless compared to the days of Nelson, Jennings, Cobb, Jones, Driver.

I'm also glad he's no longer taking hits, it's a slim chance to beat San Francisco with Rodgers, it's not happening without him.

Or maybe he was just better back then 😉

Aaron has trust issues with everyone, even his own family, it's hardly surprising the younger guys and him aren't on the same page. 😜

Oh he was definitely better back then I don't deny that. He's still a top 5 QB just no longer the number 1 he was.

Yeah but he's got the trust of his favourite State Farm agent, he's got that going for him.
