They don't trust him to throw it after he throws a pick.

Didn't the 49's run it 22 out of the next 25 snaps after his pick V the Vikes. You can't have a pick if you don't throw it.
but the run game was being so effective and was running the clock down so there was no point in throwing it

BS...the 49ers were gouging the Vikings on the ground and playing with a lead.

Fact don't lie - just posters!!

The score was 14-10 when he threw the pick. Game was right in the balance.

Before the pick 105 yards passing and 63 yards with the run. Gouging?

After the pick 26 passing yards and 123 yards with the run.

They went to the ground after the pick. As above they didn't trust him to throw it.

By "he threw the pick" I am assuming your referring to Cousins, well I hope so anyway, hate for those facts of yours to be lies. It was 14-7 when Garoppolo threw his.

49ers took the ball after Sherman's pick at the Vikings' 44. A FG gives them a two possession lead again. Coach Shanahan, who still cops criticism for how he closed out the Atlanta SB, called runs that resulted in yards gained of 4,6,6,7,4,4,11,TD. 21-10. Game over.

If you actually watched the game instead of just looking for faults in your divisional rival you would have noted the Vikings dropping one out of the box, playing two high safeties and double teaming both Sanders and Kittle (even when he lined up to block with a LB trailing). They were ripe to be run on.

Edit: My maths error, FG would be a TD lead.

Lol at wild Bill, for completely missing the point. If the Vikings can't stop the run and the defense is holding the opposition to 7 first downs why on earth why you even bother throwing it?

No team would

But, it's all about facts. It's a fact that the 49ers don't trust Garoppolo when the commentary on him all year is that he has a memory of a goldfish and plays the next series following an interception like nothing bad had ever happened (actually, with no clear facts to support, he comes on stronger).

Jimmy G's stats on drives after throwing a pick this year have been lights out. You must of not watched the game because NBC highlighted it. Either that or you only like the facts that suit your narrative

This! To which I (unfactually, therefore I lie) point to above.

I was thinking this. Remember them showing it. Near perfect rating if it wasnt. And f**k all incompletions!

So on average they throw it 3 times per drive after Garoppolo throws a pick. Each throw goes for 10.7 yds which is 2.3 YPA more than his season average.

San Francisco had roughly 177 drives this season and Garoppolo averaged roughly 2.7 throws per drive, meaning following an interception he has 0.3 throws more per drive than on the average drive.

The whole "no confidence" thing from the coaches would be hurtful if not so ill-informed.

Didn't Shanahan ask Garoppolo to throw it three times in a row deep into overtime against Seattle. Doesn't matter that they didn't succeed but clearly the confidence was there rather than running out the clock for the tie.
