these awards are so stat-biased.

Rookie of the Year should've been Quinten Nelson -- most impact on a team, lifted the whole offense and contributed greatly to the Colts offensive production and Colts playoff appearance. Barkley put up pretty numbers but didnt help the Giants lift.

Offensive Rookie of the Year should've been Baker Mayfield -- again, had a real effect on the team, lifted them to an almost playoff berth.

Barkley could've been given the Ground Player of the Year then.

Why didn't anyone tell me big footy had a dark theme? I only stumbled across it accidentally on my phone when I went to check my alerts and hit the wrong because I can't see shit when the theme is white and I'm outdoors.

Innovative genius that Chief.

:tearsofjoy: Even when the Raiders try to move they still get stuck with a baseball stadium for a gridiron field. I wonder if the Las Vegas stadium will have one, just so they feel at home

The baseball diime dirt across midfield is iconic Raiders football. Wouldn't be the same without it. Happy its round for one more year.

Do you know what's going to shit me about the Patriots forever now?

People, especially Patriots fans, are going to crap til the end of time about the Patriots "dynasty" as if said dynasty is all encompassing, and will combine the success of the early 2000s with the success of the mid-10s.

A dynasty in the context of sporting teams success consists of many common players in teams that accomplish success. There's no definitive rule, it's subjective and has to "feel right".

The Patriots went 10 years without winning a sb while Belichick and Brady were their coach and qb. Accounting for anyone I've missed, the only other player to have played in the Patriots winning sb39 and 49 teams is Vince Wilfork. That's not enough to be able to include the success of the early 2000s with this recent purple patch.

You can say the Patriots have had two distinct dynasties, but you can't include the success of one with the other. It's BS.

Oakland to Los Angeles to Oakland to San Francisco to Las Vegas....what a shambles. Ridiculous.

If it’s the same coach and QB I think we can call it the same era.

Everyone links the Hawks ‘08 flag to their triple flags, first of which was 5 years later. Schumacher’s 95 victory to 2000....zzzzzz...oops sorry I do that when I think of car.....zzzz....racing

Wow new ad for 100th season...

Here’s a description of what’s happening..

It’s a two-minute spot. In brief: At a black-tie banquet celebrating football, with Roger Goodell at the podium, and the camera panning the room to show Dick Butkus, Joe Green, Ndamukong Suh, Peyton Manning, Orlando Pace, Alvin Kamara, Drew Brees, Michael Strahan, Rob Gronkowski, and Brian Urlacher, and Ninja, the biggest video-game influencer in the world, serves the (supposedly) best video-game player in the NFL, JuJu Smith-Schuster, who gives him a double-take look …
… There’s a gigantic cake in the middle of the room, a golden football on top, and mischievous Marshawn Lynch (in a Beast Mode sweatsuit), leans over in his chair to swipe a taste of the icing and the chair tips over and Lynch smashes the cake and the golden football skitters to the ground, and Mike Singletary screams “Fumble!!!!” and Singletary and Christian McCaffrey and a couple of others dive for the ball, and it ends up in Joe Montana’s hands, and Montana bypasses Michael Irvin to throw to Jerry Rice, but Deion Sanders intercepts and struts down the middle of the ballroom, and Urlacher smashes him into a table, which collapses, and Larry Little and Paul Warfield and Larry Csonka (of the ’72 Dolphins) look on admiringly, and Kamara and Suh enter the fray but Barry Sanders ends up with the ball and makes a pirouetting move, admired by Emmitt Smith, and Peyton Manning ends up with the ball and throws to LaDainian Tomlinson and Ed Reed destroys Tomlinson, and Jim Brown is cool with that, and then Baker Mayfield and Tom Brady, sitting at a side table, chat and Brady hands Mayfield his five Super Bowl rings and then enters the game, and somehow Terry Bradshaw has the ball and fades back to pass and Aaron Donald destroys a table to get at Bradshaw, and Bradshaw throw it high to Larry Fitzgerald with Jalen Ramsey and Derwin James in coverage, and the ball bounces high and far away …
… And Franco Harris makes an Immaculate Reception, admired by Joe Greene, and JuJu ends up with the ball and he twinkle-toes across a table, and Odell Beckham goes out for a pass and Goodell tells Patrick Mahomes(yes, he’s in it) that Beckham is open, and Mayfield no-look-passes to Beckham, who reprises his one-hand end-zone catch against Dallas while landing on a table …
… And this is a very cool moment—down judge Sarah Thomas eagle-eyes the Odell catch, and referee Ronald Torbert makes the “catch is good” signal and Thomas signals and calls “First down!” And then Tony Gonzalez catches a pass, tackled hard by Von Miller, and that viral-video adolescent female running back, Sam Gordon, has the ball, and Richard Sherman tries to steal it, and she jukes him, and laterals to Saquon Barkley, and he leads a cadre of young stars out of the frame.

I don't agree, hence I made the post. Yesterday's game show more than most, that it's a team game, and there's more to team than the head coach and starting qb. When recalling teams that have a condensed period of success, you're usually referring to numerous common players that were crucial to the success and the characteristics of the way that team played in that particular year/s. The Pats have that for the 01-04 and 14-18 so far, but they cannot be considered together.

When people later on refer to the great players for the Patriots who were crucial to their success, Rob Gronkowski will be one of them. He had nothing to do with the success of the 01-04 teams.

Everyone links the Hawks ‘08 flag to their triple flags, first of which was 5 years later.
Not everyone, but it highlights my point. How can the 08 flag be linked to the threepeat? 5 years without a flag defeats the point of what a dynasty is in sport. Using 08 as a starting point, they were usurped by Geelong and some other teams. Despite Clarkson and some common players, 08 stands on its own.

Yeah it’s a team game, but seems you have greater chance of a ring if Belichick is your coach and Brady your QB.

Teams these days change over team rosters quickly which makes 6 rings in 18 years even more remarkable.

Have to agree to disagree but can’t see how you can’t call it a dynasty when two of the main players are the same guys.

Unlike Hawthorn the Patriots remained successful between SB championships. While it wasn't the ultimate success it was still a condensed period of success.

Antonio Brown's lawyer refutes that his client was involved in a domestic dispute last month.

Hollywood, Fla. police confirmed to TMZ that Brown was involved in a dispute, but that no charges were filed. "The allegations are baseless and false," Brown's lawyer said, though it's unclear what he means by "allegations." "It’s unfortunate that the media is trying to use distractions like this and prior stories in an effort to tarnish my client’s name and reputation. We have no further comment."
