The mod bashing has got to stop

One more mod bashing post and this thread gets closed permanently.

If you have an issue with a modding decision, where it be here or elsewhere, take it up with that mod or contact site admin.

Mods are unpaid volunteers volunteering their time to keep this place running smoothly. Try to respect that. Yeah, we dont always get things right, but most here are just trying to do whats best for everyone. Its impossible for mods to make everyone happy, and for every decision a mod makes, there is always going to be someone who disagrees.

Mod bashing never solves anything and it is simply disrespectful to those who take the time to volunteer for this place.

We took their flag, their dreams and their hope.

they were supposed to win back to back flags with Nic Nat, Gaff and Sheppard added to their 2018 team.

They didnt see us as deserved premiers in 17 after they flogged us early on in 2018 and then won the flag, we were supposed to fall away like the Dogs did while they became the most dominate team of the era in 19.

Once realising that wasnt going to plan they went looking for a reason that wasnt their own fault so decided it was because they got robbed with the timing of Rioli ban and added our 7 games in a row at the G streak to justify not winning.

The truth is they lost too many home games in 19 and didnt make the most of their opportunities, where as we did.

That's why they are salty.
With Rioli doing what he did. I'd reckon that trumps any thing that oppo clubs did during the year.

I honestly can understand why this is happening. For most AFL fans, all they have ever known is that Richmond are crap. No matter how bad their team is going they atleast have the comfort to know that it could be worse, they could be a "long suffering" Richmond Supporter. What was also known was that anytime the Tigers showed hope, and their fans dared to believe, it would be taken away from them in Spectacular fahion and their own constant berating and mocking of Richmond would inevitably be proved correct.

We have basically completely turned upside down what most supporters believed to be a known known, a constant of life, a certainty like the sun rising each morning.

For us to try and relate to it is difficult, but the best I can come up with is if suddenly New Zealand started spanking us in the cricket, in all forms and for years on end, and there was no end in sight to their dominence, pretty sure I would be salty as f.ck especially if you knew lots of kiwi's who were constantly reminding you about it. This is what its like for oppo supporters, I understand their anguish. They feel we are arrogant supporters,(and we are a little but no worse than anyone else) its this whole little brother comes good issue that just makes it harder for them to accept, so in their eyes we are the worst, but its their inability to accept it that makes it appear bad.
The opposition created this monster.

I would go back and watch the game again if I were you. They had instruments in their cheer squad so that song is actually from the cheer squad and the TV crew have mics near the cheers squads so that is why you heard it.

I've been banging this drum for two years now -- I swear in the not too distant future I'm going to be like that movie extra who was abducted by aliens and anal probed. I'll be slumped in a doorway in a back alley in Richmond, with a bottle of meths in my pocket, mumbling incoherently to anybody who'll listen: "wash a cheersh quad. Washn't on a shpeakers. Wash a cheersh quad."

I honestly dont understand the way interstaters get so headless about us playing at the G. Its really not the advantage they are bitching about, its actually more of an advantage being an interstate side.

You point out we play 13, you play 12 on your dung heap - then the goalposts change and its yeah but you play 17 in melbourne.

Yeah we do, but playing at ettihad is not an advantage - we struggle a bit at that ground and it is, you know, the home ground of another 3/4 sides, so where are they meant to play us? Doesnt matter you dont travel #VICBIAS.

How is playing 13 games at the G, half of which are against co tenants so home ground advantage is null and void more of an advantage than playing 12 games at home, 11 of which are against sides that on average dont even play there once a year? Sure, the GF is a bit of an advantage to a tenant but not so much given its a one off game, 2 horse field anything can happen.

I remember distinctly that they had a shot after the siren and our song didn't start until they played their little sound byte first. Then launched into our song. Whether it was recorded from their crowd I don't know but they certainly had something over the speakers for goals.

My thoughts 100%. They carry on like we play 18 games there. It's ridiculous, we play one, sometimes maybe two more times with a lot of them against co tennants.

That cocksmoker rubbed our noses in it when we were on our knees and was pretending that he was thinking about coming back to coach us
Wish that campaigner would shut the fu** up

In fairness to Sheeds here he had applied for the vacant coaching position when Gary March came out and said that there is no way his application would be considered.

I think I'd be pretty annoyed too if I'd applied for a position in good faith only to find out that the head man had, behind my back and whilst my application was still in process, come out and said I had no chance.

Personally, I think the tension between Sheeds and the club is just one more consequence of the off-field dysfunction that defined Punt Road up until the last decade. Yeah, he's a miserable campaigner, but if I was in his shoes I probably would be too.

EDIT: There's a whole lot more to this story, but the above will do for now.
