Will we ever reach a discussion on the match ups for this weeks game?

Probably will do so about 6pm on Friday just before the final teams are announced - why worry before then when the club is just as likely to make a late change meaning that Thursday night team announcement is useless?

Seems most are too angry to care about this semi final. Which is fair enough. Be nice if there was a thread to discuss game where we didnt have to deal with Scott issues / dropping Stanley etc. Lot to play for this week..
I’ve moved the Stanley decision posts to their proper home.

They'll be handing out freebies at fed square on Friday to make sure they get 50k plus

Am waiting for the canes AFL members to kick in. Probably from another Fred but this whole AFL members need to be looked after is irritating given few will turn up Friday like with Syd two years ago.

I saw someone on Facebook saying that his work/employer had an offer of 2-for-1 category 1 tickets with a limit of 4 tickets per employee.

It also seems that they aren't selling tickets for the top tier - I haven't seen them on sale at any stage this week; it's becoming laughable

If there's like only 45kin attendance on Friday night then I hope there's pressure on the AFL to explain exactly why the match couldn't be at GMHBA

No because Caroline Wilson and Chris Judd said it was ridiculous and the AFL thought so too. Foff the lot of them.

They will probably only say.. OK next time you are at Docklands ...

We will lose this game by 50+. Scott needs to have his position reviewed, as does the board, once this happens. We have taken the strongest possible position, and converted it into a weak one. There's no way we beat West Coast this week, without Dunc, sore players and a ruckman who they don't even trust to play.

I have defended everything about Scott and the club for so long, but the fact that we're playing West Coast this week, instead of a final at the 'G against Brisbane or GWS, is exactly why his position needs to be reviewed. Brisbane and GWS don't know how to play the 'G that well, and Collingwood have as easy a run as they could hope for, now that they beat us. That could have been us, but it wasn't.

The disunity, Chinese whispers and subterfuge going on re: the Stanley debacle, will show on game day. Stanley is a confidence player, and we sapped him of that. We should have backed him in, even if we did lose, as he would at least have had game time and confidence coming into this week. Now it's a lose/lose situation. If someone as positive as I have been about the club this year, can think this way, then it's no wonder that there'll be f*ck all of our supporters showing up Friday. We've all had it. Scott and Carter need to go.

We don't play like a team, we play like 22 players who are trying to adhere to a rigid game-plan, whilst not trusting their teammates to adhere to it. Whatever youthful exuberance we had at the start of the year is gone, and there is no passion in how we play the last 10 weeks. We had flaws at the start of the season, but we also had individual brilliance coupled with team aggression and team camaraderie. That's all gone now. It's been replaced by the aforementioned rigid coaching and the on-field disunity that we see now.

I hope it changes, I hope I'm wrong and we win this week, but I'm 99% sure that I won't be. Some big questions need to be asked at the end of this year, and it needs to be different people asking them. Until then, we're not going anywhere.

I don't like wishing bad but a low turnout of Geelong supporters might make another statement that our delusional coach might acknowledge. He will blame the weather... I have lost any strong connection to the club and players with Scott in charge, his smart ass attitude has no place at our club. Start being a smart ass when you can at least coach our players the basics.

Wouldn't be a Geelong final based in Melbourne on a Friday night without the inherent travel issues getting to the game....

GEELONG footy fans are preparing for a nightmare Friday the 13th commute to the MCG, with buses cancelled and nowhere to park their own car at the ground.
A major school concert at nearby Melbourne Arena, and the closure of all parking at the MCG, will make it more difficult than normal for Cats fans to get to the home of football in time for the cutthroat match against West Coast.

A lack of parking in Melbourne’s sports precinct will likely put more passengers on trains, and cause headaches for Geelong-based Cats fans.

Pretty much where I'm at too.

For so long I quietly believed in CS......and at social gatherings etc I defended him against allegations of stubbornness, arrogance and cluelesness.

But he's destroyed my confidence just as surely as he has Stanley's. Yep, he's got us to the finals on regular occasions, but starting every race near pole position only to hit the fence on the first corner nearly every time has become intolerable.

It simply can't be written off as an unlucky streak or plain bad luck anymore. Thirteen times we've started, ten times we've hit the fence. That's a pattern.

The only remaining comfort this time round is that we're still in the race, albeit we've lost a few positions, sustained some panel damage, got a loose wheel, and the steering is unpredictable.

Can we make the finish line from here?
