West Coast will attempt to secure Tim Kelly using picks 14, 22 and 32 – but doesn’t want to give up two first-rounders for the star midfielder.

Their first bid for Kelly – who will request a trade from Geelong to West Coast – would likely be two first-rounders with a second-rounder back.

The Eagles have analysed many of the blockbuster deals in recent years and almost all of them don’t involve handing over two pure first-rounders.

Deals for Dylan Shiel, Jake Lever, Bryce Gibbs, Dayne Beams and Patrick Dangerfield have all mostly seen a sum total of a first-rounder and a second-rounder or two first-rounders with a second-rounder back.

Geelong’s position will be that this is a unique case given Kelly is in All Australian form and hasn’t even reached his peak.

Kelly denied the Herald Sun report that his decision was made up, but West Coast has been aware for some time he will request a trade to the Eagles.

As I recall Brad was keen on Fogarty.

ALL THE MORE REASON TO STAY AWAY

If Hills worth that then I cant imagine what Whitfield will be worth when the circus starts next year.

Whitfield will be worth a lot of coin and GWS won't have any capacity to match the offers he's likely to get. It's my hope it's Whitfield that is the reason we're so quiet this year.

We can but dream.... Oh and hope...

But according to Damo if we blinked on Goldy's first contract offer then we will as well on Higgos and there is no one running the show down at Arden st.

Are we going to see a few player changes this year, or same, same just off field changes.
It would make sense if there wasn't that much player movement. List manager and FD boss in caretaker mode, new coach yet do do a full preseason. The biggest problem this year was inconsistency in the midfield but most of the midfield depth was injured or unavailable for much of the season. Wouldn't be surprised if they decided to give Hall and/or Tyson another crack, work on LDU taking more responsibility, bank on development from Bailey Scott and Will Walker improving the wing and small forward situation, and then there's Jacobs.

Wood's probably out, and there might be another trade or two we didn't see coming.

If we can somehow convince Adelaide to split pick 3, that's worth more than anything we could trade pick 7 for.

Unless Brady Rawlings has already let the list management team know that he thinks the list is an utter shitshow, it would seem odd to drastically reshape the list before he takes over and saddle him with the result of a lot of speculative moves.

GWS types seem sure no way Whitfield comes to Melbourne.

We can only hope...might not have too many agreeing with me but rate Whitfield higher than Kelly and Coniglio.......GWS will not let him go easily

He could play when Garn’s is injured

Yeah, in the twos.

In the last two years Fogarty has played 13 senior games.

Garner has played 9 and was suspended for four.

SEN SA’s Kym Dillon says that the management of Adelaide midfielder Hugh Greenwood is shopping him around for $750,000.

Dillon’s co-host and veteran journalist Michelangleo Rucci is hearing that the Gold Coast Suns have put an offer in front of the former basketball player that “he can’t refuse”.

“Greenwood wants to stay but wants four years,” Dillon told SEN SA’s Kymbo and the Rooch.

“He’s probably gone. They got him for nothing as a Category B rookie, same as Alex Keath.

“They’re happy to let him go at 27. They’d love him to stay but they’re not going to give him four years.

“I have categorically heard, categorically, it’s not too often I come out and say this is a fact, that his management are trying to shop him around for $750,000 on the basis of one good year.”

Roos join Blues in hunt for star Swans forward

NORTH Melbourne has joined Carlton in trying to lure goalkicker Tom Papley out of Sydney.

The Blues have been public in their ambitions to add to their small forward ranks this off-season, and are keen to pry Papley from the Swans.

But AFL.com.au understands the Blues are not alone in the hunt for Papley, with the Kangaroos also circling.

New North Melbourne coach Rhyce Shaw has a strong relationship with Papley from his time at the Swans as an assistant coach.

The Swans remain adamant that Papley will remain with the club next year and have a strong position after AFL.com.au revealed that the 23-year-old is contracted to the club until the end of 2023 after reaching a trigger clause

But clubs have felt Papley could be on the move having been unsettled in Sydney at different stages of the past 12 months.

He has not requested a trade from the Swans, who are steadfast that he will not be leaving to return home to Victoria. He was originally drafted as a rookie out of the Gippsland Power at the end of 2015.

It is unclear whether the changes within North Melbourne's recruiting and list management department will affect its interest in Papley.

The club confirmed this week it will be parting ways with list manager Michael McMahon in coming weeks after three years in the role.

North currently holds pick seven at the NAB AFL Draft, with Carlton's first pick coming at No.8 (which was tied to Adelaide's position).

Carlton list manager Michael Agresta, who was part of the recruiting team at Sydney that selected Papley in the draft, last week couldn't be drawn on the Blues' interest in him when he spoke to the Road to the Draft podcast.

"We're not going to discuss other players, especially contracted players. We're really respectful of the privacy and some conversations that go on between clubs," Agresta said.

Papley has played 82 games for the Swans in four seasons with the club, booting 120 goals.

He enjoyed his best season in 2019, kicking 37 goals from 22 games and being Sydney's leading goalkicker.
