I don't watch much of Adelaide - can someone please confirm Laird has played at his best post his knee reco?
Nah, Lairdy no knee reco, just the best player at half back in the entire comp.. I didnt factor in the Dangerfield affect when I called Laird being available in the Jamie MacMillan thread and that we should go hammer and tongs at him.. Dangerfield and Geelong are a bunch of campaigners so im not getting oTT on Laird, Would be nice though.. A Grader

Darcy Cameron wants to play for Collingwood next season with the out-of-contract Sydney ruckman certain to request a trade to the Magpies.
The 204cm Swans tall, 24, is set to serve as back-up to dual All-Australian Brodie Grundy next year and will also add another dimension to the their attack. Cameron played just one AFL game for the Swans, but drew interest from multiple clubs when he became starved for opportunities this year.
Clubs including Carlton, GWS and North Melbourne showed interest but the Herald Sun can reveal he is bound for the Pies, who want to strike a trade next month.

In addition to Cameron's ruck strength, the West Australian will form a triple-threat in attack, alongside stay-at-home target Mason Cox and the versatile Brody Mihocek.

This year Cameron averaged 100 ranking points in 11 NEAFL games as well as 16.9 possessions, 9.9 contested possessions and 22 hit-outs.
But playing mostly as a pure ruckman he kicked only eight goals for the year, meaning it is unlikely he and Grundy would regularly play in the same side.Rivals yesterday suspected that the Magpies' hot interest in Cameron could help them prepare for Grundy’s possible departure in 12 months.
At the very least it gives them unrivalled ruck depth should Grundy be injured. The South Australian will headline next year’s free agency pool and will almost certainly field godfather offers from several clubs, including Adelaide and Port Adelaide.
But the Magpies were set to chase a ready-to-go ruckman regardless of Grundy’s contract status and remain supremely confident their dominant No. 4 will commit to a long-term deal.
Pies coach Nathan Buckley has confirmed the Pies will not offer Grundy the seven-year deal he requests given it would rob the club of flexibility in its list management.

Is he planning to kneecap Grundy in the off-season or something?

Lol just like Preuss.. career suicide. Unless Grundy is leaving.

Grundy played in the same team as Mason Cox for most of the past two years. There’s a spot there for a ruckman who can play forward.

Have it on good authority that Papley is really keen to get to us given his connection to Shaw, whether we can satisfy Sydney is another matter though.

damn. can you imagine a player desperately wanting to be coached by brad scott? king rhyce baby

Fail, we need to be targetting our biggest weakness and that is center clearance. Ziebell and Cunnington contrary to popular belief are NOT center clearance specialists. They are average midfielders at best that could serve a very useful purpose if given proper role. As said many times, ziebell is a underwhelming midfield who is slow with bad disposal skills but has ability to play a medium sized marking forward close to goals or along the 50 arc. Cunnington is another slow midfield with great handball skills but bad kicking skill who can be very effective in congested space. Both points to not starting center square hence we need to find 3 players who can take the center square. Higgins is the only one of our current best 22 who is suitable but he is 32, over the hill, being relied upon and is going to leave. I am very disappointed at not hearing our club in doing everything we can to bring over sam pepper powell and targetting ollie wines as they are immense center clearance player. Zac jone i am not hearing enough of our pursuit as he has pace with great ability to burst out from the center. Quite often i hear he's got this issue and that problem, a lack of vision in that one will thrive and flourish if given the right role. Higgin needs to go so it paves the way for having 3 decent to very good center clearance players. Simpkin has shown he has got the mettle, Thomas and LDU are the other two preferred but they are not yet ready hence we need to get in someone like Jones and Powell to hold the fort. Papley is a feel good story that ultimately leads to no real improvement.

Cunningtons kicking was great this year. He has really improved in this area

Cunnington is another slow midfield with great handball skills but bad kicking.

Yes i agree with the 'really improved' part, however he has improved to somewhat of afl average but nothing beyond that.

So is Cunnington's kicking good, bad or average or are you just making this shit up as you go along?
