In addition to what others have said, it's also about managing the salary cap, not just for next season but subsequently. Trading is as much about contract and cap issues than the simple face value transaction of players for picks.

Plus Noah Answerth says hi.
Should I mention the 1001 not so successful after pick 20 draftees?

Seems like we've maintained a lot of picks this year but not corresponding list space, wonder what sort of pick swap we have on the cards?

Picks can be swapped for a while yet, so don't be in a rush to find out...

You've gone through the draft years and graded each selection and their careers I take it. Or was that a slight exaggeration, like your initial claim that picks after 20 are worthless?

But you've ignored the other part of my post. Any comments on that?

I hope the only players of the experienced depth we are moving on are the speculated probables ie. Lewy Taylor, Tom Cutler and Ryan Bastinac.

Hopefully we keep the likes of Allen Christensen, Nick Robertson, Josh Walker, Ryan Lester as depth.

We need a bit of experienced depth in case we have a not so good injury run in 2020, can't rely on our group of 2018 and 2019 draftees to step straight up if injury occurs.

you expect someone else to move later tonight. Be a couple I assume we move on rather then delist.
So far only freed up 2 spots. 3 if Cutler.
Big O goes up. 2 spots then free rookie if Basti goes.
So could downgrade 2 players and get 4 main list spots
Still more picks them spots

Callum Ah Chee.

Would have thought a second would have been enough but I guess by being future picks it takes more on top.

Then again the club has shown me it knows better than me the last two years with Cameron, Neale, McCarthy, etc

Deal looks super reasonable imo, particularly if we stay in the top 8 next year and Ah Chee stays fit. Potential steal.

After Cutler goes, we've freed up exactly zero.

There was some valid points made for sure. What were you suggesting with ‘The Answorth says hi’ part of the post? I took it as the pick we get for Taylor is likely to turn out the same? If not what did you mean. ? Yep there has been a shit load of research done on draft picks and how they all turn out. They all back my view if you were wondering.

St Kilda get Hill and a future third-rounder. The Dockers get Blake Acres, pick 10, pick 58, a future second-rounder and a future first-rounder.

Hefty price.
