That’s Robbo wasn’t marked a 10 is a joke, have never seen a softer journo than when Essendon were in trouble and hird went on AFL360.

Half expected him to give Hird a hug and kiss.

FWIW Michael Gleeson (on the age's realfooty podcast) thinks that Elliot will make a decision tonight or tomorrow and expects him to stay. Wasn't definitive though.

Pies board Elliott thread has him with Collingwood players and elliott's brother - fishing trip.

This may have laready been covered but my take is that Jamie Elliott will sign with us. He wants to make hay while the sun shines and we are offering more in $ and years, and he can also come here and not face the same external pressure if he does have to have any time out plus our medicos have form keeping guys like him out there.

This came from a 2018 article where Jamie elliott resigned for 2019.

"At just 25 a shorter-term contract with incentives built in would give him the capacity to sign a lucrative contract at the peak of his powers."

It doesnt seem those incentives have been satisfactory if at all. Then this year in August:

"Buckley told SEN’s Whateley Elliott approached the club after his latest setback in an attempt to evade grand hysteria.

“To be transparent, Billy himself was keen (to say): ‘Can we say that it’s something else, because I know it’s not that bad but I know that it’s going to be over-perceived and there’s going to be speculation about it, but it’s not that bad — can we just say something else that’s going to take three or four weeks?’” Buckley told SEN on Wednesday morning.

“We said: ‘Mate, it’s better to be honest and say what it is. You know you’re in good shape, you know it’s in a different part of the hammy, you know it’s unrelated to the one that you had. There will be hysteria about it anyway and you can’t control that. Just let it go and go through your recovery and do it to the best of your ability and then we’ll get back on the horse down the track’.

“That’s the decision we’ve taken.”

Without knowing the rest I'd say we are the betier offer and with all the Dees injuries last year and the withdrawal I'd say it's us. Hope so

Back to Brodie Smith.

Reckon Smith is no chance. Rare for a player so publicly to rubbish trade talk and then backflip days later - not unheard of, but very uncommon. Rory Laird is a much more interesting prospect I think. He hasn't made much comment at all.
