The way the game is heading Max Holmes would be a great choice if we can get him at #24.
Is he a ruckman? I think we’re better off targeting a ruckman with one of the picks in the 40s and going for a small forward with pick 24.

think one of the north posters described him as similar to Corey McKernan. Definitely haven’t seen a player like that in a while

Absolutely correct. He reminds me of a young McKernan. Very athletic for a tall and the skills of a midfielder.

Yeah I like him too (though I like all the options to be fair). Really seems like he'd fit in Clarko's vision. Defender who can read the play, take intercept marks and then use the ball well to setup or drive attack off half back. Between DGB, Sicily and Scrimshaw they would be cutting off everything.

Sounds good in theory, however we need players to man up and play tight as well. Having half the backline being relatively unaccountable sounds like trouble to me. For this reason I hope we don't take DGB and fill an area of more need.

It seems so unlikely to happen, but were we to be able to nab Campbell somehow I would be over the moon. I think he's easily the best mid on the market and I'd be less sad if we then decided to trade on our future first to grab a tall if there's one we really rate in this draft.
Despite all the knocks people have against our KPP stock I don't think it's as dire as our midfield situation- especially with Jeka looking the goods and our KPD being somewhat stocked with older lads.
Sadly I think that if we were to somehow bid at pick 2 the Swans would still match as he is freakishly talented. Then the real downside is one of the elite players slipping to the Dons.

The swans would match any bid on this kid. He is the most complete player in this draft. Absolute star in the making.

His kicking is just levels above all the other players in the draft.

He has a bit of mongrel about him too.

If we swap with North for pick 2 to bid for Campbell I'd be stoked.

Second time I have watched this. Want. Swans need forwards badly which may play into our hands. Either way we need to make a play. Future A+ has everything.

Why would Essendon bid on Campbell with 8(9) when they have 6 7 and 8? Surely you bid with the first one as you get the other 2 players anyway and it forces Sydney to use more points and potentially they don't match.

They have also leaked their order a few times this year and the past few years. All part of their plan.

If we are looking at trading up to legitimately try and grab Campbell does that speak of our intentions should Sydney match?

In other words are we going to overlook a tall to take a mid?

I very much doubt we are moving up to bid on Campbell swans wpuld be taking him if he was bid on at 1 . I think we potentially are moving up for mcdonald only but that might not last long if Adelaide take him .

MAX HOLMES!!!!! As I stare into my porridge confused.

This years Will Day?

He is basically Dangerfield but can actually make the ball sing off his boot. And minus the flopping

If McDonald is available at #4 then I'd be looking to trade our future first to GCS for pick #5.

Obviously we'd have to back ourselves in to being better than we were last season, which I'm not sure about, but it will at least allow us to nab McDonald and probably Phillips.
A top 12 pick is probably better then Phillips or any of the other prospects at that range. A lot deeper next year and there will be games being played which helps. Not worth giving a future first , we Could get injuires to important players and have a horrid season again.
