B is for Bad Ass, which he surely is
I is for Inigo Montoya, his spirit animal
N is for Ninja, which he does in his spare time
U is for Unrelenting, because he cannot be stopped
K is for Killing Machine, which we cannot prove in a court of law because all the witnesses are dead

What Keyser Soze/The Joker madness will he pull off this morning?

Hey mate, they could match a bid at Pick 2 if the Crows gave them Pick 22 & 40

They could certainly match a bid if we gave them 22&23, but I think that's paying way overs for us if we're also agreeing not to select JUH with Pick 1
If we pay 22/23 for 14 , Kelly and Reid should resign immediately. They are not good negotiators.

So we have a few hours until the trades can be announced, so some thoughts that have me confused at this point;

  • If Port trade pick 29 for Orazio, how do they match for BOTH Jones and Schofield? Especially if both come in a bit earlier than they hoped? Surely a future second makes more sense.
  • The Dunkley trade is an odd one. WB don't want picks in this years draft, knowing they are going to either be wiped out or reduced significantly. Only way I can see this getting done is if they get a pick from this year (that they immediately trade out for for Treloar) and a pick in next years draft.
  • Collingwood want out of next years first round. What opportunities might lie there?
  • I'm confident J Cameron will get to Geelong. It looks like it will involve at least 2 or maybe all 3 of their picks. Will happen though.
For ours:
  • I'm not quite sure what next years second from Melbourne was about.
  • If we want WB pick 14 as suggested, why have did we trade out pick 33? We have offered 40 to GWS for Hately. So what are we offering to WB for pick 14? It better not include more than one pick in the 20's.
I think we end up going;

  • Hately for the Melbourne future 2nd round pick
  • WB pick 14 for 23 and 40 and maybe a late round pick swap as well
  • Take 1, 9, 14 and 22 to the draft

I for one still really like Thilthorpe. Skilful on both sides. Athletic and quick for his size. Good hands. Can ruck as well. He's got a lot of tools.

Hollands would have been nice if we had pick 2. I still wouldn't care if we took him with 1 but it's a big risk unfortunately. Would have been an ideal and easy number 1 choice if not for the knee.

Great job with all the draft pick summaries, we have done quite well over the years with the draft picks we have had.

Any chance of a summary of our picks in the teens? :)

I think Hately for the future 2nd round from Melbourne is far too much.

Hollands would have been nice if we had pick 2. I still wouldn't care if we took him with 1 but it's a big risk, unfortunately. Would have been an ideal and easy number 1 choice if not for the knee.

Im really torn on this.

Tilthorpe has some great qualities. He just doesn't scream number 1.

McDonald is a better KPF choice. The pressure that will come on both club and player will be immense once JUH and McDonald start to kill it. And if we don't bid on JUH because of a deal with the WBD, the media will undoubtedly ignore the context of the deal and still give it to us.

'ADL didn't even bid on him'.

I can hear it now, and I hate the idea of it (for both player and club).

I'm emotionally invested in Hollands. I've been on the bandwagon for a while now and I really hope we take him. You said it yourself, if it wasn't for the knee, he would be the easy #1 choice.

That last sentence is the clincher.

Now players are pretty good at the recovery side of things and medical science has come a long way, but it's still a huge risk. It's why a player of Max King's calibre slipped.
