I was just looking at the picks as they stand, and Essendon having 3 picks grouped presents a unique opportunity.
If they traded 6 to us for 9 then they only miss out on 1 potential player (having 7,8 & 9 instead of 6,7 & 8) while we would be climbing up past 3 potential players. It would therefore be much more in our interests and consequently we would overpay for what is only a 1 spot downgrade for them.

if we traded them Melbourne’s 2021 2nd for that upgrade then they get a good pick next year for a slight downgrade this year while we would be effectively trading pick 33 and 9 for pick 6. Could be a win win.

For me, the thing that I would most like to see is for us to to trade 9 and 22 to GWS for 13 and 15 or to Collingwood for 14 and 16.

i think that early to mid teens section of the draft is where some really good value will be found.

No way we trade pick 1. Just can't see it.

Crows fans and club need a franchise guy. I'm absolutely spewing we didn't get pick 2, just because we could have landed Either Mcdonald/Thilthorpe + Hollands, but now we will only get one and I have a sneaky feeling we go for Thilthorpe, which at current is my 3rd choice personally.

there will be excellent MID's available at pick 9, so as much as I hate that we won't land Hollands (if we go big with pick 1) we should still get a great player, like Brahn, Macrae, Perkins , Powell etc. Then if we can wrangle another pick and land Poulter / Cook, I'd be happy with that haul.
I we would pick Thilthorpe at #1, but know he will still be there at #3, why wouldn't we trade with Sydney and get the extra picks out of it?

I'd be earmarking that 22 for a shot at the 2021 1st round. First pick of the 2nd round is probably the most disproportionately valued pick of the entire draft, not sure it would take all that much more then that to pry away a 1st from a team like Collingwood who have that high end F/S next year.

Maybe 40, or Melbourne's future 2nd

It would normally be, but the draft is being held on one night this year rather than 2

Just read that he’s the son of Ben Hollands. Nephew of Nicks.
Good SA connections
So go McDonald and then he can Chad Wingard up the interviews?

It's why we need pick 5

Might be more likely GWS have a ping at North's pick 2 with the 10, 13, 15, 20, ... draft hand they will have to get a Cameron replacement (McDonald,Tilly,DGB?), which would allow North to get in extra r1 bods in as an option when they're in rebuilding mode.

22 and Melbourne's 2021 2nd rounder for someone's 2021 first rounder and their 2021 3rd rounder?
We're not the only ones with a couple of 2nds next year.

Richmond, West Coast, Dogs, GC (incl PP TBC).

I think the Pies would wait until next year and see the ladder position before doing any deals.

However, I'm not sure Ned Guy is that switched on!

Or the Bombers will have a crack at it.

I recall Matt Crouch's manager saying Adelaide had a few things going on at the top of the draft during trade week, so I we know we are having a crack at pick swaps, but whether they come off or not is another thing.

I'd try 9 and 22.

If that didn't work i would trade next year's first provided we got something back as well as 5 this year.
GC having topped up with top end youth in recent years and having prelisting rights on Northern Oz kids, would think they would sit on any high quality draft picks they hold - gonna be mighty expensive to get such picks from them.

Can you please nail it all down for us then Vader ? I guess we assume rookies are staying as rookies?
