You just need to meet with McDonald 15 times between now and draft night. Fly the coach in, meet the family. Leak story to the paper saying we're interested (tick). Make everyone think you're picking him. Easy.

If North want to trade they'll come knocking.

Well I think Channel 10 interviewed best mates McDonald and O'Driscoll, and O'Driscoll let slip that the Crows had spoken to his parents and said we'd 'do our best to keep the boys together'........

This was before the decision on the Brad Crouch compo though, so it's fair to say our strategy has probably changed since then.

Regardless, we either genuinely DO have strong interest in McDonald, or we're at least projecting that we do.

Still no-one highlights Logans Elite skill-set ....other than he can run

Compare write-ups of Logan v Hollands ......if you knew nothing but what you read here, who would you take?

Would take McDonald in a heartbeat, sounds exactly what we are lacking. Let's face it Fog right now does not have the running capacity and our only forward who has good endurance is Himmelberg.

Hey Phil.

You're spot on. Hollands is also a Crows supporter, and his mum is a Croweater and Crows supporter too.
All 3 pick 1 candidates have Sth Aust Connections ......McDonald IIRC has his mother or relatives in Adelaide

I mentioned the split camp on O'Driscoll's potential, & if you compare CT's latest phantom draft & the AFL Draft Central rankings it highlights the differing opinions. Draft Central has him at #14 & CT not even in his top 25!!!

Possibly we've told Hollands we will take him, it fits in with Nick's comments a while ago saying he wanted a Petrecca big bodied type with flexibility to move forward on to of his wish list.

I'm on the fence, but there is the thought to strengthen our mids now, get the ball into the forward 50 with more frequency than 2020 season(not hard!!) & test out our young forward line & if EH & DF(McAsey/Worrell) don't keep improving then trade & draft for a KPF next year. The possible downside to that option is that all I'm hearing on BF is that the top tier of next year's draft will, like 2019, be dominated by mids.

Yeah it's a super tough descision at the moment, do we pass on Hollands and put faith into next year's draft that there will be a better mid than him? Then again there could be better forwards in next year, supposing that it will be a super draft. I reckon in my opinion take McDonald with pick 1 and then with our pick 9/10 we take someone like Perkins.

If we can get the two best mids in the next two drafts - Hollands @188cm this year , and Horne @184cm next then surely we will be putting together a team to rival Gold Coast over the 2020s

Thinking strategy now..If we go Hollands at 1, I think we should keep picks 22 & 23 then I hope we can get Perkins at 9 then Baldwin at 22 and Callow at 23. Coupled with Borlace and Newchurch that gives us some real good young talent in areas of weakness.

Then assuming a bottom 4 finish next year which is certainly not out of the question, we go mids with our best picks then take a project KPD and project ruck.

He talks really well. Ideally I’d take Hollands at 1 if we could secure pick 4 or 5 to get thilthorpe.
Thilthorpe could have a "go home" factor if recruited by an interstate club

I wonder if this could be a viable alternative ... take Hollands with our first pick and get into Tilly's ear that we'll do our best to get him home in two years' time.

Thankfully there's no chance of Port drafting him this year.
