If we went for Jamarra Ugle-Hagan with 1, do the WB have enough points to match? Just asking.

They can go into deficit.

Depending on whether we intend drafting all of Edwards, Newchurch and Borlase, we should be packaging up our later picks with a higher points value and offering to the Bullies for their first rounder.

As others have mentioned, our two seconds for WBs 1st (and no bid on JUH) works for both parties.

I thought they were in deficit from the previous year. I'm not sure how it works . Can you go into more deficit.

No. Fremantle, GWS and Port are the only known clubs carrying a points deficit into this years draft

I was keen on Elijah Taylor in last years draft. If the allegations (which you can find if you look) end up being true his career is over after 4 games.

Is a one time domestic violence case for a young player a career ending crime? I'd argue that drink driving is worse and that's a 4 week ban at most.

Is there a workaround where we get Jones and they get Borlase +- picks etc?
One way I can think of if both clubs really want to do this is to use their picks 28 and 32 - at 28, we bid on Jones and they don't match and then at pick 32, they bid on Borlase and we don't match.

Not sure if the FL would see this as tampering - maybe but it's kind of like trading picks/players in a non-typical way - clubs should be able to decide whether they match a bid or not a curly one. This could get wrecked if other clubs bid on Jones or Borlase earlier or between picks 28 and 32.

Jones is expected to be bid on in the back half of the 1st round....cannot see him still being there at pick 28, if he is some teams haven't had recruiters watching the SANFL. Unless Borlase has an outstanding finish to season in the SANFL League team he's most likely to go mid/back end of the draft.

I'd rather Borlase
Wow.

Don't be pigeon holing Lachie Jones as a defender just because that's where he's playing in the League team....He'd be playing midfield if he was playing U18's.
I think many will also be surprised how well he tests at the combine, he's a beast both in build and athletically. He's quite quick and has a spectacular leap on him.

Hmmmm yeah I don't think you're gonna get much traction on this one

I'm just going by the AFL clubs recent precedent for this

-Driving a car drunk with the potential to kill a woman and her children = 1-4 week ban
-Violence against men = ok (we saw crows players throwing punches in training and it was considered "good spirit")
-Alleged violence against women = career ending?

If I have to explain it to you then you're not going to get it.

The AFL care about brand over everything else. How big the punishment will be will depend on the reaction of (particularly vic) media
