The main list size will be reduced to save salary cost but I think they will need to increase the number of rookie available on the list to cover if next season will be affected and they need to play this amount of games in shorter period.I think the most likely outcome is that we delist him, especially if list sizes get cut. If we trade him it would be a token pick just to smooth his passage to whichever club will give him a chance. Best case is we maybe trade him to upgrade one of our existing picks a few spots.
The AFLPA won't like this, understandable the AFL is trying to minimise the salary cap of the main list given this current climate but they need contingency if the players have to play this amount of games in a short period like they have been doing right now.Indications are that the rookie draft will be no more after the list reductions isn't it?
Don't think there's too many rookies represented on the AFLPA's committee? The AFLPA won't like this, understandable the AFL is trying to minimise the salary cap of the main list given this current climate but they need contingency if the players have to play this amount of games in a short period like they have been doing right now.
He could kick ten and it wouldnt convince MutineerL McDonald 3 goals at half time
No, but the players wouldn't like this who they are representing as it will mean club are forced to play them after backing up from short breaks and can't be rested like clubs have been doing this year because of more players on the list.Don't think there's too many rookies represented on the AFLPA's committee?
Why tag me?, I'm quite comfortable with drafting McDonald if Hamish and our WA scouts deem him the best lad in this draft. He could kick ten and it wouldnt convince Mutineer
Mate they worry about their own paychecks way more than they care about guys on the rookie list, I think history shows that. No, but the players wouldn't like this who they are representing as it will mean club are forced to play them after backing up from short breaks and can't be rested like clubs have been doing this year because of more players on the list.
But rookie don't get pay a lot, that's the point.Mate they worry about their own paychecks way more than they care about guys on the rookie list, I think history shows that.
I might be totally wrong but from what I've read the Rookie List will be the first to go.But rookie don't get pay a lot, that's the point.
Last match you were suggesting he was playing like a small forward. Why tag me?, I'm quite comfortable with drafting McDonald if Hamish and our WA scouts deem him the best lad in this draft.
It would make sense that there could be a record low number of picks drafted with reduced list sizes and no vic exposed form. Are there any high upside players that we should be taking from (potentially) early third round after other teams tap out, or would we be better keeping list spots for the following year when everyone is buying?I think you're dreaming when his current injury is taken into account, and really don't we have enough picks already allowing for the Atkins compo and possibly Brad Crouch compo.
No teams are going to come at giving up picks in the 1st 2 rounds in this draft for a packet of chips.
I think it's very likely there will be a record low number of players drafted this year when the reduced list size numbers are released by the AFL.
All I said was he crumbed/sharked a couple of his goals.....not from marks....way to read way too much into a simple comment.Last match you were suggesting he was playing like a small forward.

LolPick 1 for a crumbing Forward?
I think if we get pick 1 & 2 we just take the 2 players that Hamish has at 1 & 2 on his board regardless of the position they play.L mcdonald finished with three goals. Although i rate mcdonald highly, if we by chance have pick 1 & 2 i would be taking two midfielders in phillios and hollands. The risk of a tall with these picks imho is too high.
Graiinger- barass was very good today and odriscoll was okay as well.
How many did he end up with?He could kick ten and it wouldnt convince Mutineer

We need top end talent in most areas of the ground.
Hollands is a yes from me if we get Pick 1 & 2, Phillips I'd be OK with but he wouldn't be a high priority with me.Agree, which for me would still be phillips and hollands.
People are slowly coming around to my top 6 players for our two picks .....a bit of love for Grainger-Barras, but he'll surpriseHollands is a yes from me if we get Pick 1 & 2, Phillips I'd be OK with but he wouldn't be a high priority with me.
You won't get me coming around to Macrae with either of our current 1st round picks or even if we get pick 2 for Brad Crouch, he's strictly 2nd round in this draft with me.People are slowly coming around to my top 6 players for our two picks .....a bit of love for Grainger-Barras, but he'll surprise
Watch Macrae become a very good AFL player
LOL .....not a chance - #10-15You won't get me coming around to Macrae with either of our current 1st round picks or even if we get pick 2 for Brad Crouch, he's strictly 2nd round in this draft with me.
Won't disappoint me if we don't draft him, all I'm saying is I'd only take him with our 2nd round picks, other than a nice kick I don't see anything that screams pick me personally.LOL .....not a chance - #10-15
