Wow.

Don't be pigeon holing Lachie Jones as a defender just because that's where he's playing in the League team....He'd be playing midfield if he was playing U18's.
I think many will also be surprised how well he tests at the combine, he's a beast both in build and athletically. He's quite quick and has a spectacular leap on him.
We can see him on C7 today. If he plays like recent form I think people will rate him very high. At 18 he's monsters it. I will cry if PA get him with their current crop of kids.

Get your tissues ready, Geoff Parker will take a nano second to match when the bid comes in

I say Borlase because we don't have access to Jones, and to take Jones would have to use GWS first rounder.
Think there are better suited players to us at that range.

Jones is expected to be bid on in the back half of the 1st round....cannot see him still being there at pick 28, if he is some teams haven't had recruiters watching the SANFL. Unless Borlase has an outstanding finish to season in the SANFL League team he's most likely to go mid/back end of the draft.
Well, they could use picks 20 and 24 in a similar way but would we want to use 20 on Jones? Actually, it sounds like you're saying it would be a reasonable bid.

If Jones happens to be there I'd be expecting us to bid on him though I think there's more chance than not that he's off the table by then.

If I have to explain the implications of a career ending suspension then you're not going to get it.
He allegedly beat the living **** out of his missus.... You and I wouldn't survive with our jobs if we did that

If it's true the kid should be in prison.

If you are talking about the risk of suicide or further trouble with the law then thats on him

We cannot allow people to get free passes based on what they might do in the future. Deal with the now.

If the AFL ended his career over that but allowed hall of famer Wayne Carey to be the voice of the game then they'd get crucified over double standards.
Things have changed a bit in the last 20 years, but I would agree somewhat. Taylor should be sacked...... If it's true. IF

No not suicide, but it sets a precedent. How many currently listed players have ever gone too far in heated dispute? Based on statistics, its not zero.

I'm really uncomfortable with trying to compare violence against women with drunk driving.

I think we should agree both are absolutely terrible, and I'm not sure if this is the place to debate level of shittiness.

I'm just going by the AFL clubs recent precedent for this

-Driving a car drunk with the potential to kill a woman and her children = 1-4 week ban
-Violence against men = ok (we saw crows players throwing punches in training and it was considered "good spirit")
-Alleged violence against women = career ending?
What you're saying is that the punishment for drink driving is too soft, not that the punishment for battery is too light... Right?

Carey was in the wilderness for years after his spate of indiscretions post playing.

Carey took his punishments and the publicity surrounding it and cleaned his act up.

Did anyone see how Borlase went yesterday? 9 touches ok for a defender in a winning team, not setting the world on fire, hopefully he used it well.

Horne only one more possession, mostly kicks though and 1.1 in the the losing team and presumably as a forward?

Is a one time domestic violence case for a young player a career ending crime? I'd argue that drink driving is worse and that's a 4 week ban at most.
Ok, argue it. Both are unacceptable. I’m sure a solicitor would certainly not compare at all and judge on its merit and in isolation for starters.

Brayden Cook is an interesting prospect, always seems to have 4 or 5 shots at goal a game, if he fell in the top 30 I would take him.

I wouldn’t mind getting a wingmen or 2 in the draft. It seems like forever since we had a good one

Would like us to start next season with Milera and Hamill running the wings ... we definitely need a couple of A-Grade on-ballers to build future midfield depth

Cook is impressive to the eye though !
