OK, play nice.
Put a trade idea in here, but if those reading it don't like it, play the ball, not the man & counter, rather than attack.

Here goes:

3 way trade involving Freo, Carlton & the Dees.

Freo give first pick 2020 + Andrew Brayshaw away and receive Paddy Cripps.
Melbourne give Angus Brayshaw away and receive Freo's first pick.
Carlton give Paddy Cripps away and receive Angus & Andrew Brayshaw.

Reasoning: Angus is the Joel Selwood of the Brayshaws' in my opinion, in that he is by far the most talented of the brothers. I know my Freo brethren think I undervalue Andrew & I agree with them to an extent, but that is something I'll get to with them. For mine, Angus is quality, but is going nowhere with the Dees & needs a change of scenery. Ergo Melbourne could afford to let him go & getting a first round draft pick would excite, particularly after trading out theirs last year.
Freo would be getting a bona fide star, I mean Cripps is in the best 5 players in the comp in my opinion, but he is struggling a bit this year. Pair him with Fyfe & you have the 2 best clearance beasts in the comp. What's not to like about that? Sure, there are WA key position talents available in the first round, but if you could get Cripps & Fyfe in the same team. That is the stuff of USA Dream Team quality midfield going on!
OK, the hard sell is Carlton. Why give away their best player, young captain, superstar? Isn't he a free agent soon? He doesn't strike me as someone who would do the dirty on a club & if this weren't to go through, he could become Carlton's greatest ever captain, sorry Big Nick, or is it Sticks? OK, let's look at this year. The Blues have gotten better, but their main man has not been as good as last year???? So that means the rest of the team is taking up the slack. Now replace that one superstar with 2 best 22 mids who get the ball as much as him, generally speaking.

I don't know.

I wear purple shaded glasses of course.

I'd like to hear counter offers, or even better an acceptance from supporters of each team.
Honestly, is Andrew Brayshaw any good? I don't rate Angus highly. I happen to highly rate cripps. The only way I'd consider this is if a future first also comes Carlton's way. You want Cripps you pay up

Along with Brown moving elsewhere North trade Polec back out for a pick in the 20s. Offload his salary and focus on getting more younger players in.

It's 'left field' because he's only been there a year and a bit and because trading out players with a few years left is unfashionable. Can get rid of the 30+ guys but they won't get anything in return and you have to pay someone.

Basically their two best players 27 or under.

Incredible. Never seen a better KPF. I am a true believer in equalisation though, so would be willing to do the generous thing and part with him for Andrews and a 1st

I heard his aggression at the contest actually scares his teammates at training!

There's plenty of teams who would go for that. North are doing well at the draft lately, so not the worst idea

Can't imagine Draper is actually worth that much more which is why I suggested Smith. Although it's Dodoro, so for all we know he'd be asking for a 1st rounder or something stupid
i think Smith for Draper is closer to stupid than a 1st rounder.
we aren't letting the first mobile ruck we've recruited in over a decade go. i dont think i could deal with any more of Bellchambers...and Phillips has had his good game for the year.

For it to be worthwhile we would have to look at a top 20 pick. Trading Polec out is a good left field idea, but you'd only do it for "overs".

We could pay some of his high salary to make it worthwhile for a first rounder too.

Market value will be what it will be. Hard to frame given how many teams will be bidding. Could swap Polec and pick 25 for pick 10, never know the specifics.

Point being that most people will say 'North no good, get rid of Higgins and Goldstein and draft kids' etc. Dal Santo finished up at 32 so North could give another full year to Gibson (30), bring in Hrovat, play Mullett (25) etc. Was it worth it? North could've traded a 28 year old Goldstein and got a packet in return.

At the moment, yes. Both are 28 this year and still have value. In other sports players in the prime are regularly traded because that is their peak value. In the AFL we are conditioned to the notion that clubs own players who are out of contract.

Goldstein to cats for mid to late 1st round + Parfitt.

Ruck is the missing piece for a cats flag and think danger and selwood would push hard for a premiership in the next 2 years.

We went for him as FA last year. We are not trading for him at 33 that's not happening.

Zach Merrett for Clayton Oliver was an interesting hypothetical floated on the Essendon board. Would be keen to hear Demon fans’ thoughts (although not sure they’d be too keen after Clarry’s performance last night).

McLean to demons for Fritsch?

No.

NO. I rate Merrett too but Oliver has copped it pretty unfairly this year (And was dominant last night).

There's always a risk because while we need an inside mid, Merrett is by far our best kick in the midfield. That's his point of difference. Removing Merrett and adding Oliver to Parish, McGrath, Shiel and Heppell doesn't really entice me. Too many unreliable kicks. I'd prefer we add an inside mid and trade Parish as he is the most expendable. If we were to go for a Melbourne player, I'd go for Brayshaw as he'd come cheaper than Oliver.

Ben Brown to Bris
Pick 18 to Adel
Pick 19 to Melb
Angus Brayshaw and Darcy Fogarty to North
Not bad, but I think North would need to send something Brisbane's way like Pick 28. Anything involving Ben Brown is going to be hard to predict without knowing the severity of his latest injury, and without seeing whether he recaptures any form later in the season

Suns trade Will Brodie and future 4th round to Essendon for a 2nd round and future 3rd round

Suns trade Essendon's second round + Brayden Fiorini to Sydney for Jake Lloyd

Hawks trade future 4th for Melbourne future 4th

Hawks trade Melbourne's future 4th for Carlton's Matthew Owies

Carlton trade Melbourne's future 4th for GWS' 5th round + Nick Shipley

GWS trades Melbourne's future 4th for Fremantle's 2020 4th

GWS trade Fremantle's 2020 4th + future 3rd for Western Bulldogs' Jackson Trengove

Seems fair
