The last 2 years officials have let so many false starts by the OL go. Just like they are less strict on tackles starting off the LoS.

Refs need the preseason games more than the players do. Officiating cold is hard to do.

They still did an extra scrimmages and a couple of extra practices. But the officials have been letting some things go the past few years especially pre snap penalties.

imagine if they did do a 4th and 15 rule for an onside kick. you could have teams with bad blood try that all game and make the other team never get a snap.
