Only concern I have with Mac is that he may end up like Trub.

He has a great arm but hasn’t been asked to make pre snap reads and go through progressions. It’s often play action and pass to first read (an NFL caliber receiver who is open).

Other than Tua, The best QB to come out of Alabama under Saben is Greg McElroy. and im not referring to his QB play, i enjoy him as a commentator.

I try scout the player not the helmet tbh. People said no good QBs ever came out of Texas Tech a few years ago

the coaching has a lot to do with it. its hard to got too high on a QB who is handing it off to 1st round RB, getting blocked by 1st round OT and passing to 1st round WR's.

If Jones played more like this last year i would be inclined to agree. but its another who has been in a system for a few years but pops up in the final year.
Ive seen enough of Steve Sarkesian to know he isnt a good QB coach

You would have not liked Burrow then?

He isn’t perfect but probably fits what they want to do with play action.

As I said, the accuracy is there but it’s hard to get a read on his pre snap and progressions

Im still not sold on Burrow being the next big thing. i think he is going to be a average QB.
I sure as hell wouldnt of taken him at 1. i would of taken Chase Young.

I think when you are struggling like drew is, if a guy is open you throw at him.

For a guy with just 80 targets, three drops and two fumbles maybe he just needs to concentrate on his job.
