In that last three or so minutes two freo lads got deliberately shoved in the back by carlton players after they had kicked the ball and both times the ball came back to the spot the offence occured..

why did the last free of the game not get taken back to where the offence occured?..

freo should be asking for an explaination..

I reckon there was a West Coast kick that was better - oh wait was that after the siren? Or the one against Port by McGovern :D

Shuestar13 ?

There was more than one from memory... 😛

Nice finish. Appalling umpiring all night, two of Fremantle’s goals in the first were from dubious frees... Carlton had the better of the game for most of the second half, poor finishing cost them, should have been up well before that.

Betts struggling big time...

The umpiring will soon reach a boiling point. Never seen so much anger about umpiring in a season
It's only been because we have been so shyte that it hasn't annoyed me as much as it normally would... but we have got the raw end of the pineapple in most games.

Last week the 2 non-razor umpires were screwing us... Not sure why given we are that bad, the other team doesn't need extra assistance.

Mind you the playing standard under COVID is worse so the umpiring is too...

Now there’s a can of worms if ever I saw one.

In such a clear cut situation of incorrect rule application, I wonder if there is a case here?

Of course it won't go anywhere but this is as blatant as it gets

Has the AFL ever reversed the result of a game due to an umpire error?
didnt they reverse that game in tassie that time when the siren failed to sound and a team won from a goal kicked after it shouldve gone off?...

thats my recollection.. but ive drunk a million beers since so happy to be corrected..

Will we ever video review decisions like this during the game?

I don't wan't to see everything thing held up with video reviews and where does it end...

The one that does get me though is the incorrect paying of a mark, usually right in front of the goals, almost can't miss situation.

We often get a full replay showing that the ball was touched or there was a push in the back or something while the player is still lining up for the kick, would it ruin the game to get a message down to the umpire that this might be something worth looking at closer?

I guess the problem is adding reviews also adds "that was reviewed, why wasn't this reviewed" and it's basically the same thing.

They turned that one over during the week, I guess it's an umpiring error, but was more of a time keeper thing from memory.

They are the feel good moments in AFL, were you can rewatch the last 2 minutes any time you feel down and out.

Debacle from the umpires, amazing kick from Newnes

But the loss 100% should be on Taberner's shoulders. Dreadful effort at disguising the deliberate out of bounds. Just take possession.

But anyway, even allowing for that ineptitude how about... stand the mark? You remember Auskick yeah?

Instead trots away in a daze allowing Docherty to stream unfettered towards goal and get way closer than he should have, creating what turned out to be the match winning goal.

Sure the umps stuffed up. But if Taberner didn't produce the most moronic thing ever seen on a football field outside of Crows' games then they win regardless.
