No, the bloke who designed it still owns the copyright and is aboriginal. There are no restrictions on flying the flag. WAM entered an exclusive agreement with the copyright holder in regard to the reproduction of the flag on clothing etc.
The copyright is property and the government can compulsorily acquire property.

If that’s too hard, the Government can put your house on the heritage list to restrict what can be done to that property to preserve its cultural significance, so restricting the original copyright holder from licensing its use for commercial benefit is not a huge step I would have thought.

WC have to play 5 games in 19 days in the run home yet the Vic media (and some gullible people) still are pushing the "fairest" season eva line!

Its fair because its a non-Victorian team.

Darryl Kerrigan kept his house.

“What’s this dear?”
“That’s the aboriginal flag Darryl.”
“Yeah but what have you done with it?”
“Oh, I had to change the colours.”

I don't understand why the government would want to interfere?

Geelong on the weekend: "Looks like everybody's kicked a goal"

Justin Reid still can't work out how he got Frampton so cheap. He's worth almost us much today as when we bought him.

Rob Chapman reckons football is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck

Federal and State acquisition laws aren't the same. You can contest a Federal land acquisition under the Constitution, as Darryl did, and you have a very good chance of winning. However, he would have had no case to argue against a State Government doing the same thing. That's why people who try to fight DPTI taking their houses/businesses for roads always lose.

List management explaining why Dmac is in the 22 again:
"In summing up it's the line breaking, it's Dmac, it's experience, it's continuity, it's the vibe and, no that's it, it's the vibe."

Phil Harper: "I cleared that tray three ****ing times! F-3... F-3... What the **** is that?"

Lynch gets off lightly for punching..... Twice in one game

If you're gonna stamp it out, suspend players
Firstly - I think any illegal contact to the head should be a suspension - open handed or not. Pushing someones head into the ground is borderline but slapping the back of the head should be games

I base this around concussion protocols and the future issues CTI could cause the AFL - by getting proactive they can point to the punishment regime

On Lynch - he should have got 2 weeks or the back of the head slap/push -that would have sent the message and he may have thought twice about the stomach punch
