Question for all y'all, do you run the gauntlet on Naismith and have Ceglar up forward, or do you have English on ground, with Long in place of Ceglar and Naismith on the bench. Essentially, it allows me Laird instead of Cerra down back.

So basically:

Laird, Naismith, Ceglar (De Koning)

VS

English, Cerra, Long, (Naismith)

That is my dilemma right now. I really think Long will take over Savage's role, and push mid 70's to low 80's, but that will be offset by Naismith being on the bench and English being on ground. Or I could really run the gauntlet and have Naismith on ground with no Ceglar back up, and have Long up forward and another decent defender or forward.

Decisions decisions...

I like English way too much and am almost locked in with him at r2 and naismith as a cash generation option.

I'm the same, but Laird down back instead of Cerra is probably 25-30PPG, which is tough to turn down...

Essentially, it's will the difference between Cerra and Laird be bigger than the difference between English and Naismith. It's also interesting if B. Williams gets that back up ruck role, because then you can shift Naismith onto the field.

Like you though, I really do like English, and I think he's primed for a big year.

I guess looking at this even more simply - if you consider Cerra and Naismith will score similar - who will score more, Laird or English?

Spooked a bit on ROB now, got beaten by Smith on the weekend. Now looking at;

ROB (105) and McClug (105) vs English (90) and Coniglio (115)

Are these predicted averages a fair assessment?

You going both Dogs or just Dunkley? I initially had both but really really like Zerrett so I’ve dropped Dunkley for him. But now wondering whether to go Dunkley or Macrae?
I just can't choose now but I will end up dropping one of them. Leaning towards Dunks out just because Crae has more runs on the board.

Apparently the person that the Freo player met with did his quarantine anyway and had no flu like symptoms before or after.

I may be wrong, I hope I’m not but it sounds like it’s just precautionary.

Literally in the article!

Simplifying my previous convoluted post, haha, who are people choosing out of these two combos:

English, Cerra

VS

Naismith, Laird

First option
English will be inconsistent, probably needs one more season to truly get rid of his spud scores. The gap between English and Naismith will be a bit lower than the gap between Laird and Cerra imo. Also, Out of all 4 players, Laird is the only keeper. Long also will be prone to spud scores, Ceglar as solo ruck seals the deal for option 1, he should go 80+
Wouldn't risk having no cover for Naismith

Even if it is it does wake you up a bit in terms of the season as a whole. Not saying there’s going to be major panic stations with hundreds of players getting it but it takes one positive test to shut a club down for 2 weeks and create mayhem everywhere in terms of premiership points, scheduling, training etc. This one for example, let’s say he tests positive, that rules Carlton and us, along with Freo out of round 1, no training between now and then. It’s almost inevitable that it’ll happen at some point this season.

I suppose looking at it from a different angle... With Ceglar in the forward line and naismith in the ruck you could spin it to yourself that Ceglar is really your r2 and naismith is your f5. Seems way more easier to digest that way.

Yeah that's pretty much how I'm looking at it now. I really do want English, but Laird down back is a genuine top 6 DEF. Think I'm gonna back my gut

Yeah that's where I'm leaning as well. Switching Brayshaw into the mids at the expense of Hately and putting Ceglar into the forward line, has pretty much locked my team now. Very happy with it now that Laird is in there too :)

You've probably talked me into something very similar. Looks like another late night dissembling my team again. Thanks.

Phew, tough all around, but finally done after weeks of BS. Hately out and Brayshaw into the mids, allows Ceglar into the forward line essentially replacing English, and Laird replacing Cerra. Such a slog but ready for Round 1 now and really happy with my side :)

Finished product (Watson becomes B. Williams, with Xerri/De Koning into the ruck if he doesn't play, but most Freo peeps seem to think he will at this stage):

How i am looking post Marsh. Pretty happy with it at the moment, midfield is just about set and i can't see myself moving anyone on barring injury. Steven and Macpherson have just been added to my forward line but i like how it looks with both of them in it. Backline my main concern at this stage and need to find a D6 as i don't think Gould is going to get named.

Really like it, jeez the Viney at M4 call takes some balls but he looked really good. That back line is just dreamy.
