Anyone considering Petracca, bear in mind it is no longer a contract year for him. SURELY that puts a line through him??

And yes I’m saying this tongue in cheek... sort of.

Just playing with my team, with no rookies <220k any good which would you prefer

Gaff (M3) , Budarick (M8)*, Townsend (F5), Rankine (F6)*
or
Anderson (M6), Stephens (M7), Wingard (F3), Bonar (F5)

*Best available 170k player

Started with Gaff but it feels right to just have all the gun rookies.

How many Dockers is too many? I'm not sure I've ever had that many in my fantasy side thanks to Ross Lyon the wet blanket. But this year...

Brayshaw, Cerra, Acres, Bewley, Blakely, Young, Serong, Sturt all in serious contention for me.

This much purple makes me want to gag!
It's nice for us to at least be fantasy relevant for once, don't forget Henry will likely debut at some point, maybe even Valente too, so many rookies to choose from.

And don't worry about the feeling in the back of your throat, you'll get use to it. The very thought of including Gaff makes my skin crawl.

On the point of Cerra, he's looking like he'll get the same amount of time in the middle as Brayshaw. He's been played on half back for the past few years (so we've really got no way of telling how he'll do in the middle) which could arguably have kept his numbers down. And he's priced considerably lower than Brayshaw, very tempting

Please don't jinks this now

My thoughts for what it's worth... nice team!
- I haven't seen Bianco's name come up too much. Is he likely to get early games for the Pies? From my quick read of their board he doesn't seem to be in contention. Obviously if there are solid DEF rookies that lineup would work
- Strong mids, I like the Boak pick but happy for you to take that risk rather than me! Bont could be a good shout too, and would I be right in seeing Gaff as ensuring you've got a defensive option to balance that riskier portfolio of picks? ;)
- I've got ROB too. all aboard!
- Must admit I don't know much about Henry, but can't fault the other picks. I've also got Bewley at this stage. Similar upside to Brayshaw but $200k cheaper!

I've got 80k left, with a few contingencies - but rookies are mostly speculative at this point.....

Could even through Walters, Ryan, Darcy as potentials depending on how they go!

On the other hand you guys could also have some useful players. Nic Nat R2 ?

Add Fyfe M1 with the C and change your team supported and you’re all set :thumbsu:

This article got me onto Dusty. He has durability and if he plays enough midfield he will score well.

Obviously, I love him as a player, but this is what concerns me about Dusty.

These games don't get mentioned in any Fantasy analysis. His form was great at that stage. 12 goals in three games but uninspiring Fantasy scores.

Personally, I want him forward more. Our midfield can manage. We are deadly with him up there.

If he is mostly mid then get him in. I have no fears over the sort of year he will have - he will be as good as ever, but my hunch is he won't be a scorer.

Terence Hill is one of my all time favourites

I'm really struggling to find any defender premos that I like other than Houston and Doch (who don't actually classify as genuine premos yet). Can someone please convince me of why they have chosen their premo defenders

Sicily underpriced but agree with you.

mostly upgrade targets.

I'm backing Laird to bounce back to triple figures. Smith will be out of defence and from what I saw on the weekend, part of the new gameplan involves short kicks around half back. Only unknown for Laird is how Gibbs effects his score if he's also down back.

Also keep an eye on Zac Williams for role.

I started with premium defenders, such as Lloyd, Crisp etc - but after I had done that, I looked at my forward line and it was a giant steaming pile of ………. (censored).

So I dropped back to an underpriced defence. Houston, Doc, Blakely.....

Same,
I had Lloyd & Laird,
Traded to
Dawson & Smith
Swan & crow for a swan & crow.
Just saw better value in their team mates and I needed the money.
Now have
Smith, Dawson, Houston
Docherty, Young, Starcevich.

Same boat here. I started the year thinking there would be very few good forward options and then a whole bunch gradually revealed themselves. I also thought that there would be loads of options in defence but I've been turned off most of them.

Depends on Crazy Bevo I Guess... not sure he gets back in myself and might need to wait for an injury to get into that stacked midfield.
Yep. Kinda what I'm getting at. Surely bont swings fwd more and bevo increases mid rotations
Bit of a flag for prospective bont owners

Quite a difficult season. Feels like most of the tasty midpricers are in the upper ends of the price range (600k odd) which leaves ya really scraping the barrel to pay for all the expensive rookies.

Currently have had to put Hill/Brayshaw in as D4 and F4 respectively which looks gross af. And yet despite having to do that I've currently only got the 5 mids which includes T.Adams who I'm a lil unsure on.

Last year was my first year off since Chad Cornes was an amazing captain option and the DTTalk boys hit the sauce during their vids. I'm back. I'm back for the stress. I'm back for the distractions from my post-grad study. I'm back for the nights when my better half is asleep and it's 2am and I'm sitting on the balcony deciding which premo mid has a better fixture to finish the year. I'm back like a crackhead wanting a fix. Let's get it err'body.

And in saying that, I'm already so bloody stressed trying to figure out how my team will look for round 1.. Goddamn it

Mate, high risk with Zac Dawson in defence. Do you have some insight into a role change this year?
