It sadly seems like there's a real disconnect between being deserving of being recalled and actually being recalled

It’s impossible for us armchair experts to judge from afar based on some meaningless scratch matches, and related ten word match reviews about who may or may not be “deserving”.

Tyler himself had plenty of exposure early in the season so unlike some others at least has had a chance to show his stuff. But he has a bright future so hopefully some more games come his way thus year.

Does lynch have any craft other than ruck? Or is he a little slow for a 200cm. Geeze we could do with someone his size becoming a key position, most likely defender.

They've given him time in that 2nd ruck/KPF role in the past. I think that'd be his go at senior level. Can understand the selection committee thinking long and hard in the Cox v Lynch decision for tonight's game.

Still maintain he should be trialled on a forward flank. He’s clearly been overtaken in defence.

I'd still like to see either Shaz or Murphy trialed off a wing.

No Word on Murphy, He is an emergency, so maybe hold over? Given that wills, shaz and brown all played in the scratch match and they are the other emergencies.

Heard me might be a Late In

I think the disconnect is between posters who get to watch a couple of minutes of highlights and read a few tweets, and a selection committee who have the full information from the scratch matches, medical rooms, and any training.

Yeah, you're right, what's the point in criticising coaching staff, they never have nor will they ever get anything wrong!

Could you imagine if we ended up with pick 5 and it went on a midfielder or HBF!
There would be riots if one of Thilthorpe or McDonald was available, but I think they’ll be gone by then. I’m not sure there’s another KPP in this draft that warrants a top 5 pick outside those two? If we had pick 10ish and overlooked Cox in favour of a mid then this place would truly explode.

I’m predicting riots with whatever selection we make 😂

I’ve given up on the season trade talk/riots is all I have.

there’s some potential key positions to be had in alir alir, McDonald, Wright, finlayson, brown, Brennan Cox, (I’m not including hogan (pass), Schache, so i think we will likely grab a midfielder 1st pick given ugle, McDonald, thilthorpe will be gone before us. Then grab reef and another potential tall. As highlighted by knightmare, our midfield is getting on, is falling off, and despite our lack of KPF we need to fix it as well. I’d like to see Sidey spend next two years forward. Given our salary cap, it’s easier to fill a key position than pay a gun mid. I don’t want to trade treloar, but I’d be open to it.

with next years first available we can look to bring in a couple of ready made key position prospects with a pick swaps.

Not sure I've ever claimed coaches or selectors are perfect or infallible. Happy for you to point me toward that post if I have. I often disagree on selection and/or field placement, but I guess that's hardly a criticism, just a difference of opinion.

I am amused though at people who have very little factual evidence to go on yet seem to think they know better. We don't even currently have the VFL games to attend to garner anything, it's all guesswork.

Like others have said, Tyler, Broomy, Lynch, Tohill, Rantall, Bianco all showed potential.

I like the idea of giving Broomy a crack as an inside mid - he has the same bulk and height as Adams.

he doesn’t have the core strength, will be bumped off the ball to easily. He is the kind of player to go on a wing or half back and use his disposal better but alas I think his time has come and gone.
