Bonner isn't a direct swap for Fantasia. Fantasia doesn't interest me at all.

Bonner is to be used as part of a deal to land a bigger fish or to get up the draft order.

The fact that many of you see value in him means that maybe the clubs are that dumb as well. Okay, that's a bit harsh, but he has a weapon or 2 that clubs will value. Who else on our list (that we can afford to offload) has any currency? Leinert perhaps? Our draft hand this year is poor. We will need some upgrades if we want to pull any moves. Bonner I think is the perfect candidate.

Hayes will have some people asking questions. I dont want him leaving, but he is a talent and good rucks are hard to come by.

Crows board posters are the apprentice who's been sent to Bunnings to get some wooden davva glue.

Or my old woodwork teacher who used to send the annoying year 8 student out to get elbow grease.

We can't afford to lose Lienert.

He only goes if he demands out.

We have NO other KPD back up.

id like to see if we can get a pick in the 20s, thers a few good tall backs in the top 25.
Jones bid will make it hard but if some how we can trade bonner for a future second, we may be able to trade back into this year after a jones bid if theres some tall talent from the 25 left

Current tall depth heading into 2021. (Pre-trade period/draft)

KPF: Georgiades, nobody and nobody.
Ruck: Hayes
KPD: Lienert, Pasini and nobody.

All the guys listed above need to stay and we need to bring in 3 players minimum to replace Hoff, Buzza, Watts and Grundy.

My view is anyone who is classified as useful backup should be shopped around to determine their value. In this group I'd have Bonner, Lienert and Farrell. We've got kids that are high draft picks that we need to develop and give game time (Bergman, Georgiades, Mead, Jones). If we want an experienced backup player then give Mayes a 1 year deal.

So with Jones coming in next year, you need to sell high, there is Zero value in Garner. Bonner and Lienert would hold some value and Bonner being younger would probably net that bit more. Are all 4 the same player, no. However 3 are expendable at the right price.

I agree. If it was a choice between Lienert and Bonner I'd keep Lienert 100%. I seriously want to keep Hayes too. I think the bloke who is totally expendable who has the highest trade value is Bonner. It's a no brainer for me.

I think you undervalue nobody.

Bonner is overs would make a very damaging wingman I wonder if the X man can go into the guts?
Should of waited to cut Atley and used him to trade for Fanta pants.

I think X bides his time on the wing until Boaky retires. Then he takes that inside / outside mid role.

Daniher made the right call. Brisbane is a very good fit for him and vice versa.
We should be enquiring about oscar mcdonald. We need another big key defender.

We need a young developing big defender

We need a cheap break glass depth tall defender

We don’t need an average to poor expensive tall defender who would want to be a first 22 player on a multi year contract.

Hayes will have some people asking questions. I dont want him leaving, but he is a talent and good rucks are hard to come by.

I hope we hold onto him ferociously

There’s a tonne of decent young rucks coming through, McDonald, English. Marshall, Darcy, thilthorpe and ladhams.

But as promising as those guys are there’s barely a tap ruck amongst them. They’re all poor to bog average in actual tap work and excel in other areas.

A genuine tall competitive tap ruck like hayes could be a real weapon against these guys in a few years.
With Daniher heading to Brisbane, will be interested to see what happens with McStay. Could be useful as a KPD back-up. He won't play forward if Daniher stays fit.
yeah you’re right. While the right three key forwards could possibly fit together I don’t think mcstay hipwood and daniher would work at all. It’s also interesting what they do with the second ruck situation. Having said that mcstay isn’t leaving Brisbane because he’s become a depth player to be depth somewhere else like port. He’s also nowhere near good enough to replace our starters.

I think people are barking up the wrong tree when they want to bring in best 22 senior players to fill these depth holes.

I think we look to the draft or to the state leagues for a young-ish but ready player.

Guys like hilder and Finley that missed out last years draft or anyone else in the other state leagues. Nathan Krueger from geelong would peak my interest, though it’s concerning he hasn’t gone on with it at geelong and the stories about his work ethic.

Lienert and bonner are roughly pretty equal now but most people would agree that lienert is at it very likely close to his ceiling while bonner is improving and could be exceptional if he gets a few things better.

I would be keeping both right now.

Garner is more likely the one to have become trade-able (the catch being the lack of strong interest to warrant a trade)

Durdin would be an adequate break glass type KPD option

Highmore in the draft would be similar. Ready to go.

Guys like Tucker late in the draft could be an option. Henry Smith i'm keen on as a young raw KPF/Ruck option.
