Could almost have forgiven that for Megan Gale. ;)

That would have been a true sliding doors moment for all involved:
  • Hammer would have never met Megan at the Carlton B&F awards, got married and had children.
  • Andy Lee would probably still be with Megan Gale
  • Port would have never recruited Andrew Moore

We have plenty of half back flankers to trade out for players and/or picks.

yes.

But the club want Bonner to stay - and vice versa. You wouldn't trade Houston in a drug induced fit. Hammer is welded onto the club roster, albeit late in his career and not likely to attract any interest. DBJ will be high in the B&F tonite. Bergman is regarded highly by the coaching group.

Of all our HBF's, Burton is on shaky ground due to persistent injuries, but would we seriously trade him - and who would pay much for him?

And remember................Hammer plays the drums!

Players getting out in year 7 threatening to walk next year under free agency.

Clubs backending contracts to squeeze into the cap and then salary dumping players who don't want to leave.

The bullshit works both ways.

Big no to both McDondald's.

Went to school with them. That isn't super relevant but they just aren't AFL standard footballers.

Especially Oscar. Ask Melbourne fans what they think of him.

Only McDondald i'd go after is Luke but we don't really need someone in that role anyway.

Oscar McDonald has been the worst KPD getting a regular game over the last half decade. Huge no from me.

I've never really rated Tom McDonald, but he's a good size and he can play. He'd suit our system pretty well

To save you the suspense, this key need for the Suns is Rory Atkins.

They've already signed him though so it must be someone else

Chris Scott watches the grand final and thinks, What do we need to take that next step? I know, more experience!

imo hed be good, could go back mostly but also actually cover up forward if/when marshall or dixon get injured

I'd take Tom McDonald on the cheap, however I'm pretty sure he's on a good contract at Melbourne.

Play youth now and they are out of contention for years. If they jag a flag in 21/22 Scott knows he can have 5 years at the bottom without much pressure on him. The shorter quarters in 2020 were kind to his aged side. With those likely again in 2021 it's a logical crash or crash through move by them, much as I despise that club.

Tom McDonald only played 9 games this year. Anyone know why? At 194cms and 99kgs he's a good size and has always been a strong bastard when I have watched him play in defence or up forward. (His brother Oscar is taller but is a very poor defender). Kicked 53 goals in only 20 games as Melbourne marched to a PF in 2018. Does he want to play CHB? If so, let's have a talk to him.

He seems like an obvious get if he wanted to leave Melbourne. the only concern I would have is I think he was on good money off the back of his good year. With 170 games, 28, and a starter at Melbourne, he would be a 400k a year prospect as a minimum and its a question of whether we wanted to pay him that as a 18-22 player. I can't see him uprooting his life for anything less than 400k x 3. We've offered more to worse players, but I still think it is a bit excessive for the role he would play.

$300k base + $5k per game is probably what Clurey is on, ie statistical average AFL wage. He said he wants more opportunity. He might not want to play in defence. If not then I don't think we should consider him.

Experienced CHB's who have played forward aren't available in abundance.
