Chuck a second rounder to the Crows for Talia. Exactly what we need right now. Still the best 1on1 key defender in the comp and we would get a good 3-4 years out of him. In that time we draft a couple of good KPD prospects and work on them.
A defence of Talia, Jonas and Clurey would be pretty damn hard to score against.

He would know he has zero chance now of making finals for the rest of his career. Surely he would want a shot at some glory and wouldn’t have to move home.

Why would we do that

Has looked seriously average to poor for a while now + at port he gets called for the holds and trademark cannon into a blokes back move.

All we would be doing is helping Adelaide rebuild while screwing up our back six. He’s not remotely mobile enough for the way we play

Has he been poor? I think he’s one of the very few Crows players who are still doing well. Considering how badly they are getting pumped. He is the best 1 on 1 defender in the comp.
We don’t need run and carry, we have that in spades. We desperately need a tall key defender to defend against the likes of Brown, Hipwood, Lynch etc. The guys that kill us every single time. This is literally our biggest weakness. The guys that cause people on the forums here to lose their mind every single time it happens.

I couldn’t care less about what it does to help the Crows. We have a squad right now that could win multiple premierships over the next 2-3 years if we can fix our glaring deficiencies.

I don't mind the argument, agree infact, just that he'd be penalised soooooo much in Port.

Yeah he’s been poor.

His teammates are completely on an island out there because if they get caught in a pinch, he’s not there to help them. Doesn’t come off and help at any contests.

Every time I’ve watched him his trademark one on one work has been slipping. Still getting away with the wrestling that umpires have no idea how to referee but he’s been incredibly slow (even more than usual) off the mark when forwards lead and has just been crashing into the back of the leading man and hoping not to give away the free.

Carlton dont seem keen on Wines. Their board is talking about Papley being the target they use their first rounder on. They even tried to trade for him last year and had Sydney accept pick 9 but it was a 3 way deal with Essendon who knocked back pick 9 for Daniher.

Since Carlton > Essendon > Sydney are the 3 clubs Wines was said to go to it looks like we may be in on a 3 way trade with these teams.

I could see the below or some mix of that depending on how bad Essendon is.
Papley > Carlton
Carlton 1st > Port
Wines > Essendon
Daniher > Sydney

If Sydney do that deal they should be deregistered. Papley is three goals clear in the Coleman, Daniher is out of contract and has played one good game since 2017.

I actually thing we need an inside beast more than anything else. Ie what we all thought Ollie would become. When the chips are down a player wins the clearance and drags the side along with him.

Ebert, Rocky, Boak and Gray are nearing the end. Wines and SPP have not come on in this area. Drew and Atley are injured or not good enough. Houston is not this player.

Who are our starting mids next year? Now contrast that slow, ageing group with the grunt and speed of Richmond, Collingwood, GWS, Suns, Saints, Blues, Melbourne, Eagles, etc.

We desperately need some good inside players or the cliff with come quickly and brutally.

Lachie Jones?

I would have liked to see the club target more talented kids in the upcoming draft, but given its severely compromised not sure this is the correct option this year.

Must get a KPD this off season.

Lachie Jones?

Consensus at the moment he is a half back. Yesterday he played full back on McBean. Had a tough day at the office but battled all day.

He's not the silver bullet in year 1 no matter what.

Zac Williams goes alright when he gets a chance.

Hopefully Bergman and Williams develop quickly, Williams would Free up Rozee/Butters to get more midfield time.
