Treloar would be our best mid if he joined and we have the salary cap space.

Ideally I would love to get him for 100% salary for a 2nd if they are trying to dump him but we would likely have to give up a first for him. Also unlikely he would want to come to SA.

I guess the question is, what would you pay for Treloar? Given we have no currency and sorely want Jones, who do you suggest we move on to fill a requirement for a trade?

Having said that, moot point. He won't be here.

A young treloar with his prime ahead of him?

a thousand times yes

an older treloar near the end of his career with some worrying body niggles and a huge contract?

Hell no.

Yep. 28 by the start of the season next year, with some pretty strange soft tissue injuries (even a double hamstring at the same time). You wouldn't really want to be paying too much. Given the compromised draft though, Collingwood may be able to net a late first.

They got Matt Crouch with pick 23, so that's almost like Brad Crouch.

The ambassadorial knifing of Brad will start soon

I wonder how his brother will feel

Doesn't care, he's there to collect his pay cheque just like he collects his possessions. Except one isn't cheap.

If we did announce him - That’s crows style stupidity.
He didn't really announce him he was talking about the excitement around our side and said something like "and Orazio if we can get him in". It probably shouldn't have been said but it wasn't as bad as it has been made out.

I’ll just say that the majority of this board thought we’d be shit this year without Howard.

I’ll back who the coaches and list managers want to bring in to the club. If they say they want Fantasia, it’s because he has qualities that the team is missing. They aren’t bringing him in because they think he’s rubbish.

Our very own club thought we would struggle without Howard too. CD admitted they never expected what we got out of McKenzie this year. Sometimes it's just down to luck, not any shrewd decision making.

There is no evidence, nothing at all, that Fantasia would markedly improve our list. Whatever they are thinking of giving up for him, better reflect that.

There was nothing wrong with what was said about OF at the B&F. Davies was already on record as saying OF had nominated us and he had spoken to OF. He was not “announced” at the B&F at all. The comment was we will improve next year given our young players and “if“ we can get OF.

People can get a bit precious on this board.

Treloar has anxiety issues. Having a club publicly question his worth as a player and a person would have a terrible impact on someone with anxiety. Living in a covid bubble would have been difficult for someone with anxiety. Moving to Adelaide would be difficult for someone with anxiety. Moving to a club that supports him, has a clear role and has a chance for success in a more low key city with little covid issues would be a great thing for someone with anxiety. I think it would be a great fit for club and player. (speaking as someone who has dealt with anxiety issues for most of my life)

But you still don't know what kind of anxiety issues he has do you? Social, Panic, PTSS, OCD or Generalised and how they impact on him. If all people had exactly the same anxiety issues, and reacted exactly the same way to the same stimuli then treating then would be a snap. Without knowing the specifics of his case, you can't say what would be best for him. Even knowing the specifics may result in treatment that doesn't work best for him.

Besides which, most of what you have described sounds like it would be what most people would want.

Respect for being open though.

We also are forced to execute a game style to try and “protect” our defense and we saw where that style got us in the last quarter of the Prelim when we needed to find a way to fashion a score

I don't know anything about ptss, but to me the other anxiety orders you have listed are largely overlapping manifestations of an imbalance which is the underlying cause of the anxiety. Obviously the more stress you place on the individual, the greater the likelihood and severity of the manifestations which are physical, emotional and behavioural. I agree that stimuli which helps the outcome for people with anxiety orders are similar to the things which help the outcome for most people. Ideally football clubs and wider organisations would try and provide an environment which is beneficial for both the employees and organisation. Theres no need for respect for being open about anxiety. Hopefully Treloar finds himself a new home and helps them win a flag. Hopefully its Port!

I understand why GWS matched Geelong/ they genuinely want Cameron to stay.

Adelaide matching St Kilda when they actually don’t want Crouch to stay is typical crows silver spoon tantrum behaviour.

I totally disagree with this attitude.

Players have the power in negotiations like this because clubs let them leave. More clubs should match when RFAs want to leave.

If the Crows think they should get a better deal than pick 23, it's their responsibility to match.
