Darcy Moore is apparently out of contract.

Jeez, don't think he's gettable but if we were somehow able to jag a deal, boy-o-boy woweeee

I think the sticking point there is he wears a hairband.

And not a free agent and would command $1m a year.

Yeah, I'm okay with that. The hairband not so much.

Someone far funnier than I once said he looks like Keira Knightley in 'Bend it like Beckham'.

If I was a player looking to come to port, i'd be considering the fact we are going to change coaches in one years time. They better be prepared for that turmoil.

Sam taylor is the one I'd want. 196cm kpd and only 21 at a good team.

Next to no chance of getting him from GWS given he's contracted but if for some reason he wants to leave I'd be making a big play at him. He's got absolutely elite potential from what Ive seen and has already been learning from Haynes and Davis and played in big finals.

Might be hard to keep him and De Goey while paying players like Cox $550k

I agree with this, unless it's a young SA lad looking to home but I would add one additional clause here. A good key defender, 195cm type of player.

That would be about it.

I think Watts, Rockliff and Motlops contracts are up at the end of this season which is great, put them on 1 season contracts now.

I love the way some of our younger players have come through. Think of guys like Huston, DBJ, SPP, Amon now this year as Well. We need to stay the course and keep developing.
Yes, I like your caveat re the big defender to manage Hawkins and co! PS Always build through draft, you get lucky every now and then with a trade but it is a flawed long term strategy.
Clarko tried to short cut his rebuild with trade and he has to now go back to square one. The Hawks and Geelong dynasties were through the draft

I like this! Big fan of Taylor.
GWS will be after a ruckman...

At 196cm, he is 8cm taller than Jonas, 3cm taller than Clurey.
The same height as Watts.
Let's do this!!

Nowhere definitively.

"Testing the market"

There are quite a few that don't want to go through a 4-5 year rebuild.
Bonner for Smith would be a win-win IMO.

Bonner would be a massive upgrade on Rat and will still be playing when the Crows become competitive again.

Smith is better right now.

Optimistic. Bonner is not fit to tie Smith's laces. Smith a far better player.

It would be a win/win in that we win by getting Smith and win again by getting rid of Bonner. Lose/lose for the Crows though.

Tom Mcdonald is the one i'd get, good 3 years left in him, wont cost you the earth, can run all day and is a better one-on-one defender than any of them.

Don't mind it. Similar situation to Dougal. Was a quality KPD, got shifted forward out of necessity, and then for some reason even after he failed in that position his club refused to entertain moving him back to his natural position. The difference being that given TMac's age he won't command the same trade value that Dougal did, which is bad for Melbourne but good for us if we went after him.
