With north looking like imploding and or folding why the hell would any player go there unless they had no other choice to get game time?

He's also good as a quasi-midfielder once the ball hits the deck. With limited rotations not having to burn an extra 5 - 10 because we need to replace midfielders more often is gold. Lycett is obviously a better ruck at this stage, but he's not great outside contesting the ruck contests.Ladhams is one of the best young rucks in the league, has the natural ability to go forward and lead out of the goal square which very few rucks can do, and his work around the ground is exemplary for a player who hasn't even played 20 games in the AFL. We've got an absolute gem here and we just need to continue playing him in this role.
Even if he doesn't turn into a pure #1 ruck down the line, he is already a very good player in his role as the 2nd ruck/3rd KPF, and those are hard to come by. Absolutely wouldn't even consider trading him.

If we think we can go around again next year and challenge for the flag then Lycett is way more valuable than Ladhams. Ladhams will still cop some hidings in the ruck for the next 18-24 months. The consistency of Lycett is gold right now.If we don't win the flag this year, I'd rather trade Lycett before Hayes or Ladhams.
Kyle Hartigan and a future 4th rounderChayce Jones and Ned McHenry.
Trade news indicated that Robbie Tarrant is interested in being traded. Didn't make it sound like North was that keen and didn't state to whom he was interested in being traded. Port would be an obvious suitor.
Hayes can play ruck and forward. Not as athletic as Ladhams, so Hayes would probs have to play deeper forward with Dixon leading up the ground.how do Lycett and Hayes fit in the same team?
I can see ladhams fitting with both.
An injury to ladhams, i cant see hayes coming in?
Word is, that all the value in his trade from Port to North was in fact coming from Jesper...Did LOL
"However Ralph also reported that wingman Jared Polec, who found himself on the outer at times during 2020, was now more likely to stay at North Melbourne after receiving “almost no interest” from rival clubs."

Reckon you'd look for a 2021 first for preference though

Geez if they were players we could draft/trade to the club we would be over the moon...we have them so talking about trading them is just nonsense!!!Ladhams ,Marshall and georgiades any more players that are very hard to replace we want to trade ffs
Matthew Scharenberg as a restoration project?
He's contracted for 2021, and the negotiating posture is very easily resolved by North adding 2022. You're thinking he replaces say Clurey in our starting 22, or just for point matchups? Is that really enough to motivate him to make the change?

Interesting about Tarrant. Port is an obvious destination if he's looking to join a flag contender in the twilight of his career. There's a spot in the best 22 for a player exactly like him, assuming his form stays strong, and Clurey/McKenize probably fight it out for the third tall spot. Although it would mean our key defenders would be 32, 30 and 29 early next year if Clurey is the one who is out, so it's definitely a short term fix.
Hard to tell if that's what he wants to do or if he's just trying to get some extra financial security out of North.
Port's interest might depend on how this season plays out. If the undersized defence holds up in a prelim and GF, then no need to change anything. If an opposition key forward proves the difference, we probably need to try and plug that gap and have another crack in 2021.
