NoIf someone offered a second rounder and a future second for our current second round pick you'd have to consider it. Like if you could guarentee Johnson was gonna be a gun he'd have probably gone in the first round right?

Daring to bet against Jason Taylor. Since joining Melbourne in 2013 every first pick he has had except one (Hannan, who was traded to WB and played in the GF this year) has a premiership medal. As much as I like van Rooyen, I'm not bothered he's off the board. I just didn't see what he offers to us that Brennan Cox doesn't already, and I do think he's also best suited to defence. I'd find it very hard to go past Johnson as best available, but I think Goater fits what we'd want better so it wouldn't surprise me if we went that way.
50/50 chance at worst I reckon.Kind of, we can now match bids from him but go into a deficit as we hold 54 and 62 or if he gets to 40 then we can match with our next pick, if we want him as a Cat B only then he has to make it through tomorrow night (Won't happen IMO)

Not sure why Johnson has slid out of the first? As tempting as he is, if we could swap picks with the Hawks for a little something extra and still get Goater it'd be an awesome haul...

I can only assume the mail on the Hawks being keen on Johnson was wrong because if they had him as a top 8 talent then there is no way they dont find a way to trade with Brisbane for that pick.
Likewise, if we were tossing up on Johnson/Erasmus per the mail then we rate Johnson top 10 and some club is going to have to pay a mint for us to risk losing him
Johnson could have slipped for lots of reasons. One might be that he isn't super quick, one might be that he doesn't win a lot of the ball, one might be that he potentially indicated that he would not sign an extension with an interstate side and wanted to come home with Colin Young as his manager.
Agility is elite but not burst player.Didn't he test really well for speed?
Never thought Johnson would be available at 21 either.I would say there is no chance of that happening.

He is agile and can run, but I don't think he is quick
